Abstract
ANGLES AND PARALLELISM IN TEXTBOOKS THE LIGHT OF THE THREE
WORLDS OF MATHEMATICS.
The objective of this study is to analyze the resources proposed for the study of
content related to the angles and parallelism in elementary school textbooks of
II, in the light of Talls theory of the Three Worlds of Mathematics (2013). We
seek to answer the following research question: "The resources and activities
found in textbooks for the study of angles propose a way by the Three Worlds of
Mathematics, ie, can be characterized as proposals embodied experiences in
the World, exploring the notions associated with angle in the World Symbolic
exploring the angle measure and its properties and Formal World exploring the
definition of angle and channel them to the parallelism? "An angle may refer to
notions of turning, opening, or region, which also leads us to figural concept
notion Fischbein (1993). Epistemologically or historically found some of these
notions in the work of Barbin (1996) and Vianna and Cury (2001). Analyzed the
textbooks recommended by PNLD, ie to perform a literature search. Following
the methodology of content analysis of Bardin (1977) mapped the data and
establish categories of analysis. Analyzed a collection and concluded that the
presentation of resources dealing ideas, measures and the definition of angles
in this collection can provide the student with a journey through the Three
Worlds of Mathematics, allowing it to perform successive abstractions, aiming at
the formation of the concept by through the development of mental images, the
manipulation of measuring instruments and properties related to it.
