Note
Each company has an on-site Bentley administrator that was designated when an
account is first created. If you do not have a current log on, please contact your on-site
Bentley Administrator who can assist you with the correct information and permissions.
Otherwise, contact Bentley directly (refer to the links at the top of this document).
2. In the Search By area, enable the Product radio button, then select AutoPIPE Products from
drop-down list.
3. In the Filter By area, select All from the Files Posted within last drop-down list.

4. Press Search.
5. Enable the check-box next to the most recent version of AutoPIPE Vessel (see the Date
column) and confirm that any dependencies have also been selected.
Note
The Certified On column provides information about the Operating Systems for which the
application has been tested. Installing the application on any other Operating System will
be at your own risk and will not be supported.
8. Press Continue.
9. Download Procedure. Read the Legal Terms of Use statement. If you agree, press Accept.
a. Press Advanced Download Manager.
b. Specify a path where the files will be downloaded in the Set Destination field.

10. Burn DVD Procedure. Enable the Bentley AutoPIPE Vessel V8i check-box, then press
Continue.

AutoPIPE Vessel updates are created as needed. Notifications of these updates are included in the
AutoPIPE Vessel Newsfeed (accessible from AutoPIPE Vessels Help), Bentley Press Releases, or
Newsletters sent to those who have signed up to receive the Select Newstream for Plant products.
Note
It is the end users responsibility to periodically check for product updates and new
releases.
DOWNLOADING UPDATES
1. Follow the instructions in the previous section above to log into the Bentley web site and
navigate to the Support Download page.
2. In the Search By area, enable the Product radio button, then select Bentley AutoPIPE Vessel
from the drop-down list.
3. In the Filter By section, select Enhancements and Updates from the Download Category dropdown list.
4. Select All from the Files Posted within last drop-down list.
5. Press Search.
6. Enable the check-box next to the name of the file and confirm that any dependencies have also
been selected.

7. Scroll to the bottom of the page and press Continue.
8. In the Delivery Method area, enable the Download radio button or enable the Burn DVD(s)
radio button to have an official DVD mailed to you
9. Download Procedure. Read the Legal Terms of Use statement. If you agree, press Accept.

INSTALL FROM CD
1. To install Bentley applications, ensure you have logged into the computer with an account that
has administrative privileges. If you are unable to log in with a suitable account, contact your
network administrator to log in and perform the installation.
2. After inserting the CD, an introduction application will automatically run from which you can
start the installation. If the introduction application does not begin, use My Computer to
browse to the CD and double-click on the SETUP.EXE file (located in the Product\Install
directory of the CD).

UNINSTALL PREVIOUS VERSIONS OF AUTOPIPE VESSEL
All folders located in \Bentley\ Engineering\AutoPIPE Vessel as well as all Translator folders
should also be removed.
The application should not be installed from a network location. Bentley recommends the
placing.EXE files on the users system before starting the installation.
This procedure assumes that SELECTserver has been installed and configured. If it has not,
contact the Bentley License group or the Bentley SELECTserver group to assist you.
You must log onto the users computer with full Administration rights. If you are unable to log in
with a suitable account, contact your network administrator to log in and perform the installation.
1. Close all other applications currently running, then navigate to the downloaded .EXE file and
double-click on it to start the installation process.

2. Nothing will appear while the installer is starting up. In a short time, the following screens will
display. Bentley recommends accepting all default settings.

3. After the AutoPIPE Vessel installation is complete, continue with next section before starting
the application.

Note

Standalone Workstations. Requires an .XML license file to be imported into the License
Management Tool in order to license installed applications. The .XML file is checked out
against a Bentley-hosted or user-deployed SELECTserver account.
All license management questions/modifications are handled by the Bentley License Team and
Account Managers (NOT the AutoPIPE Vessel Technical Support Group). Your Account Manager
can also assist with application pricing.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Install AutoPIPE Vessel following the procedures provided.
2. Acquire a valid Bentley SELECT license file (.XML) from your Bentley on-site Administrator,
hosted server, deployed server, Bentley License Team, or Account Manager. Prior to
receiving an .XML file, the user may need to provide a computer name where the application is
to be installed.
3. Copy the license file in your hard disk by selecting Start > Programs > Bentley Engineering >
AutoPIPE Vessel > License Management Tool or start AutoPIPE Vessel and select File >
License Management Tool as shown below:

4. The first time this command is issued. a warning message may display. Press OK.
5. The License Management Tool dialog displays. Select the License Checkout tab, then select
File > Import.
6. The Import License File dialog displays. Browse to the location of the license file (.XML), then
select it and press Open to import the license file.
7. If the file is successfully imported, the available licenses are displayed with the expiration
date.

8. The security is now in place. The installation is complete and AutoPIPE Vessel is ready for
use.
Note
If updating the node lock to a Network license server, complete the following:
1. From the License Management Tool dialog, select Tools > Options.
2. Update the Server Name and Site Activation Key information with the appropriate values as
shown below.

1. Install AutoPIPE Vessel following the instructions provided, but do not start the application
because the licensing portion has not been configured at this point and will revert to Demo
mode.
2. Download the SELECTserver as previously described.
3. Install Bentley SELECTserver.
Note
Contact the Bentley License department or Bentley SELECTserver group for technical
support.
4. After the Bentley SELECTserver has been correctly installed, select Start > Programs >
Bentley Engineering > AutoPIPE Vessel > License Management Tool or start AutoPIPE Vessel
and select File > License Management Tool as shown below:
5. The first time this command issued, a warning may appear. Press OK.
6. After the License Management Tool dialog displays, select Tool > Options.
7. Enter the Server Name and Site Activation Key information provided to you:

8. Press Test Connection to confirm the entries are correct. The following displays.

If the SELECTserver and Activation Key are not verified, confirm the data entered and
server connection (contact Bentley license department) are correct.
9. Press OK to accept the settings. The License Management Tool displays with all available
licenses in the top window. AutoPIPE Vessel will only run in Demo mode until one or more
license are available for checkout.

10. The security is now in place. The installation is complete and AutoPIPE Vessel is ready for
use.

AutoPIPE Vessel Edition radio button.

License pool = 0, or application is not listed in License Management Tool), the application

When a calculation is performed, the following or similar unavailable license error message
will be displayed:
Verify the AutoPIPE Vessel version selected in step two above matches the license
available in the File > License Settings list.

Verify a license is available (i.e., Available > 0), File > License Management Tools,
License Checkout Tab Available column next to the product selected.
