The cast of Farscape, season 1

These are some of the first characters I made up for BESM, so there are plenty of mistakes. Also, since
they were designed to be handed straight to players who had never seen BESM before, there's a lot of
descriptive material that experienced players don't need. I tried to get all of them (except Pilot) to work in
30 CP, so some of the more powerful characters had to be shortchanged. This is how the viewers knew the
character near the end of the first season, so there's a lot of details (Zhaan can turn invisible) that aren't
included yet.
Also, this has been imported from Word to text, and some of the formatting has been lost. I don't have
time to make it totally pretty again. Sorry for that. I think it should be readable.

only have 15 points.
* Mecha Regeneration level 1 (4 MP) - She can regenerate 5% of her original Health score per hour that
she rests.
* Sensors (analytical) level 4 (5 MP) - Range: 100 km, or 1,000,000 km in space, for spotting a mansized, non-luminous object. Analytical sensors can be focused on anything spotted by normal sensors, but
only at 1/1000th of normal ranges: 500 meters in atmosphere, or 1000 km in space.
* Special Equipment level 1 (2 MP) - Maintenance bays adjacent to transport hangars.
* Special Equipment level 1 (2 MP) - Makeshift medical / scientific laboratory in one maintenance bay.
* Special Equipment level 1 (2 MP) - Docking web that allows non-powered objects at least small shipsized to be drawn into the transport hangars.
* Special Equipment level 2 (4 MP) - A full complement of DRDs (more than 100) allows for repairs and
surveillance anywhere inside her.
* Space Flight level 3 (6 MP) - "Average" interplanetary flight. Earth to moon in hours, to Mars in weeks.
These are Moya's "thrusters".
* Star Flight level 6 (9 MP) - Normally, Moya travels at "fast" FTL speeds, but can Starburst great
distances in a short period of time. Starburst requires several minutes of preparation under the best of
circumstances, and is impossible when her systems are strained or depleted.
* Toughness level 3 (12 MP) - 60 extra Health points.
* Mecha Defects (8 Mecha Bonus Points):
* Awkward Size (1 MBP) - Moya is titanic, but her Health is multiplied by six.
* Cannot Talk (1 MBP) - Moya con only communicate with Pilot.

only stop 5 points.
* Sensors level 1 (1 MP) - Range: 10 km, or 1000 km in space. Assuming a man-sized, non-luminous
object.
* Space Flight level 3 (6 MP) - "Average" interplanetary flight. Earth to moon in hours, to Mars in weeks.
These are the Pod's "thrusters". Transport pods have no hech drive.

* Awkward Size (3 MBP) - It is the size of a very large truck.
* Mutual Damage (1 MBP) - For every 5 points of damage the Pod takes, the occupants take 1.
* Noisy (2 MBP) - In atmosphere, the Pod is as loud as a jet fighter.
* Poor Maneuverability (2 MBP) - The Pod gets a +2 penalty to complex maneuvers or Defense rolls, and a
-2 penalty to Initiative rolls.

suffer a +2 penalty to anything they do for as many rounds as they missed the roll by. Anyone with Life
Support is immune. He must make a roll to hit, but hits the face or eyes automatically if he hits at all.

thoughts, memories, and the entirety of their being, though much of this understanding fades quickly
minutes after Unity is over. She can initiate psychic combat while in Unity. Costs 2 Energy per minute.
- * Special Attack ("inflicting pain") level 1 (4 PP) - With total concentration (no other actions that round,
not even defense), she can inflict incapacitating pain on someone within 3 meters. She must make a Soul
check to initiate the attack, and the victim can defend by making a check against the average of Mind and

Soul, or a check against Soul with a -2 bonus (both can be attempted). If the attack is successful, the
victim is overcome with pain for several minutes, unable to do anything. (Abilities: soul attack,
incapacitating. Disabilities: Extra Energy x2, Melee, Static, No Damage). 16 Energy to use.

* Heavy Armor level 1 (3 MP) - All damage to the Module is reduced by 10, except for the canopy, which
only stops 5 (Partial, thin area).
* Sensors level 1 (1 MP) - Range: 10 km, or 1000 km in space. Assuming a man-sized, non-luminous
object.
* Space Flight level 3 (6 MP) - "Average" interplanetary flight. Earth to moon in hours, to Mars in weeks.

* Star Flight level 3 (2 MP) - "Fast" faster-than-light flight. The Slingshot Maneuver requires 5 rounds, the
atmosphere of a planet, and a successful Mind check, and only lasts a short amount of time after that. The
Module does not have normal hech drive.

Defects (4 Bonus Points):


* Luxan Blood Poisoning (2 BP) - on any wound that draws blood, make a Body check at a +2 penalty. If
failed, damage is taken as per Critical Injury, even if there is no great blood loss. If the wound exceeds
the Shock Value, the Body check is at no penalty; greater blood flow means a greater chance of proper
bleeding. If the wound exceeds the Shock Value, and the Body check is failed, Critical Injury damage is
added to the Blood Poisoning damage.
* Warrior's Code (1 BP) - he will not abandon an ally in battle, or lie to an opponent, or any such thing...
or so he says. He apparently can be talked into it with a successful Mind or Soul check, but won't do it on
his own.
