The Information Technology Services Department

You cant do things earlier than the technology, said Mr. Pacis, head of the information
technology services department. This statement directly pinpoints how the division implements and
evaluates strategies.
Data encoding system for enrolment has been applied since the early 1990s. Although not all
files are well documented, it was in 2002 that complete files were retrieved up until the present time. In
2009-2010 the upgraded system for enrolment was implemented, through the creation of two servers,
the production and the back-up server which will be discussed further. Moreover, identification cards
were only made of paper.
Microchip contained IDs were introduced in 2004. In spite of the new technology spearheaded
by the division, a lot of weaknesses were still recognized, yet the strengths of the strategic plans should
be acknowledged and appreciated especially now that technology makes it a lot easier for everyone to
communicate his/her own thoughts about the system.

1. Since when did FEU start its computerized enrolment procedures and processes? How about the
provision of microchip contained IDs?
Answer:
Data encoding only prior on 2002. 2009/10 was the upgrading of system which contains the
production server and backup server. The backup server is updated at least every hour. In 2004,
microchip contained IDs were introduced.
2. How and why did you come up with those brilliant ideas?
Answer:
You cant do things earlier than technology. Curve safety.
3. In the first years of these automatic processes, what are the problems/ challenges that you have
encountered?
Answer:
During the enrolment, the users were trying to adjust and the faculty was having resistance to it.
Google for cash list service. Philcom was allowed not outsourced for 20/day. For FEU Internal, 48% was
browsing Facebook. Also IDs were allowed to enter FEU East-Asia.
4. What are the strengths and weaknesses of the systems(enrolment and ID) that contributed to the
university?
Answer:
Strengths- ERP(Planned), NetSuite(Cloudbased) financial part peoplesoft
Weaknesses- old, easily flooded, electricity must be uninterrupted, specialists, process

5. what are the future innovatons of the management in the current technology being utilized by the
university?
Answer:
Stored value ID for pionner and FEU Students.
Beba Pay- can pay transactions thru the ID card.

6. How important is it to have implemented these kind of modern technologies in todays system?
Economically?
Answer:
To get the most of the money paid by the students.
7. Is it ok if wed ask how much was the expenses provided from the past? And future projected costs?
Even just the estimate sir.

You should ask the Accounting department.
