Ayurved is Science of Life:

Ayurveda is the oldest surviving complete medical system in the world. Derived from its
ancient Sanskrit roots - ayus' (life) and ved' (knowledge) and offering a rich,
comprehensive outlook to a healthy life, its origins go back nearly 5000 years. To when it
was expounded and practiced by the same spiritual rishis, who laid the foundations of
the Vedic civilisation in India, by organising the fundamentals of life into proper systems.

The main source of knowledge in this field therefore remain the Vedas, the divine books of
knowledge they propounded, and more specifically the fourth of the series, namely
Atharvaveda that dates back to around 1000 BC. Of the few other treatises on Ayurveda that
have survived from around the same time, the most famous are Charaka Samhita and
theSushruta Samhita which concentrate on internal medicine and surgery respectively.
The Astanga Hridayam is a more concise compilation of earlier texts that was created about
a thousand years ago. These between them forming a greater part of the knowledge base
on Ayurveda as it is practiced today.

Ayurveda therefore is not simply a health care system but a form of lifestyle adopted to
maintain perfect balance and harmony within the human existence, from the most abstract
transcendental values to the most concrete physiological expressions.

Based on the premise that life represents an intelligent co-ordination of

the Atma (Soul), Mana (Mind), Indriya (Senses) and Sharira (Body).
That revolves around the five dense elements that go into the making of the constitution of
each individual, called Prakriti. Which in turn is determined by the vital balance of the three
physical energies - Vata, Pitta, Kapha and the three mental energies - Satwa, Rajas,
Tamas.
Pancha Mahabhuta - Five Great Elements
The 5 great elements originate from pancha tanmatra. Tanmatra is a Sanskrit word meaning
subtle essence. These tanmatras incarnate to form the 5 great elements. Each great element is
a combination of all 5 tanmatras but shows predominance of one tanmatra.
The 5 tanmatras are Sound (Shabda), Touch (Sparsha), Vision (Roopa), taste (Rasa), Smell
(Gnadha).
These
tanmatras
are
related
to
each
sense
organ.

In Ayurveda, it is said that components & functioning of the nature is similar to our body
components and its functions. Pancha Mahabhuta theory states that everything in the
physical creation is composed of these 5 elements. The very first element that comes to
existence is akash (Ether). It is most expansive and least concreate of all. The next element
derived is Vayu (Air) then comes Agni (Fire), then Jala (water) element is formed and lastly
Prithvi (earth) element is formed.

International Scientific Conference in Zurich (Switzerland)
In this conference scientist Dr. Richard; the nob& prize winner appreciated our research
work. Our main Research Centre is in Kolhapur (M. S. India) and Sangli Lord Pharma has
discovered a novel herbal formulation for diabetes.

Recently, a pre-clinical trial was held at Grant Medical College, Mumbai (M.S. India) that
proved the potency of Mehanorm for diabetes. It was found that Mehanorm is more potent
than most of the prescribed allopathic medicines used in diabetes mellitus. Lord Pharma had
organized free diabetic Diagnostic & Awareness Camps. In these camps more than 2000
peoples were benefitted.

Introduction:
Not only in India but worldwide, due to change in life style. Diabetes has become a very
common hazardous disorder. It has hampered the creativity, intelligence and the active
lifestyle of mankind; Most of researchers all over the world are actively involved in this
antidiabetic study. Though we are stepping in the 21st century a modern era, the cause of
diabetes & its curative therapy is still unknown. The conventional allopathic treatment has
certainly its drawbacks. It has its side effects, drug intolerance, drug resistance, day to day
increasing drug dosages & addition of newer drugs & finally shifting diabetic patient to
injectable insulin. Patient has to face severe fluctuating BSL & resulting hazardous
hypoglycaemia & coma. Allopathic therapy do not overcome diabetic complications like
vasculopathy, neuropathy, nephropathy, retinopathy, cellulitis, memory loss, Irritability,
sexual
Impotence
&
so
on.
After studying Allopathic, Ayurvedic, Unani, Homeopathic medication we concluded that
there is no appropriate medication to cure diabetes & its complications. India being a tropical
country, has varied climate. Various medicinal plants are found here & we took ben/fit of this
herbal wealth. We scanned hundreds of plants & after a deep study we formulated a
complete, excellent, herbal medicine "Mehanorm"

The present study of the clinical trials on a new herbal antidiabetic formulation has been
carried out with the following objectives
APPROACH:
Our formulations contain standardized extracts, because we believe that such practice works
against our principles. The concept of whole plant extracts is found in the ancient Ayurvedic
texts, where decoction (Quathas) and medicinal wines (Asavas) and preparations are
described, but standardized extracts isolate the main constituents, and solvents and other
foreign
substances
are
often
used
in
this
process.
