The exercise below relates to thinking styles and preferences. Thinking preferences can determine how we
behave and interpret the world around us. The results of this exercise will help you understand your own
thinking style and preference and appreciate the differences in others style and preferences.
1. Read the list of 32 words carefully and then choose the eight (8) words which are most descriptive of
you. Assign 20
points in the box next to those 8 words you feel that best describe you.
2. Next, select 8 more descriptors that are moderately like you. Assign 12 points to these words and
note the scores
in the boxes next to the words.
3. Select another 8 descriptors that are a bit like you. Assign 6 points to these words and note the scores
in the boxes
next to the words.
4. This leaves 8 more words that should be most unlike you. Assign a zero to these words.
5. Add up each of the 4 columns totals.
6. THE TOTAL OF ALL FOUR COLUMNS SHOULD ADD UP TO 304.
