Bind these keys and take a look around your space ship. When you are done looking around go to step 2
Use the toggle key to switch between look and other modes
These are the same keys you will use to fly your craft using different modes

Bind these next. Now you have had a look around your space ship you might want to tell some one about it. These are the basic communication keys. They will also give you an idea of the panels
When you are done trying looking around and trying to talk to people go to step 3

Get to know the systems in your ship and in start ports. In the game there is an option in controls called interface mode. Bind these as the primary controls in interface mode.
Now look at the different panels and in your ship and in the start port. Spend a while get to know them. They are quite.
Youll be using these keys for flying too.
Now you are ready for take off and landing. Step 4

Now you know how to use the panels, bind these key for take off.
In the controls option there is one called landing override. Bind these keys in landing override.
They are very similar to the keys used for navigating the panels. Fewer keys to remember.
The controls only work while you landing gear is down. Key N.
Select launch from the star port menu. Try and lift off and hover about in side the space port, and slowly thrust out the exit when it is horizontal,
When in space thrust far away from the station to practice basic fly. Step 5

Step 5 - Basic flight controls

You have now left the space station far behind you. Bind these keys now.
You know how to look around, how to talk to people, how to use the panels and how to take off and land. Now for some basic flying.
In the controls there is an option for flight controls. Bind these keys there.
Pitch means the way you are pointing
Roll and pitch helps you move about.
Energy to engines is the first step to using the power management
Once you can fly around, try and fly back to the station and land. Use the contact tab in the system panel to request docking. Now go to step 6

Step 6 Basic combat controls

You can now dock and land too. Bind these keys now.
So buy some fuel in the star port and take off. Fly around far away form the star port and practice these keys.
Run silent is stealth but it makes you very hot and you will explode
Heat sinks keep you cool. You start with no heat sinks
You can move energy between weapons, shields and engine systems
Flight assist off is very hard to start with. Its perhaps the most important part of combat.
Have fun. Go get killed. You are now mostly harmless. Go to step 7

You now no there very basics. Bind these keys now.


You are ready to boldly go.
In the controls you can set thrust to about 30 % use that for key O. When out of control press O to get to a comfortable speed
You sensors is the radar in the middle. If you see Triangles that means you can have a fight
Yaw mean point the nose of your ship more to the left or to the right.
You can use thruster for more than just landing. Try them with flight assist off.
You have headlights to help you see objects in space

You can pick up cargo canisters with a your cargo scoop
Target a near by start and use frame shift jump drive to get there Er engage?
