MATLAMAT (GOALS)
The aim of the course is to expose and give understanding to students on the role and contribution of the
engineer to the society at large. At the same time students will also be given exposure to the importance
of professional ethics in conducting their everyday engineering practice.

HASIL PEMBELAJARAN (LEARNING OUTCOMES)

At the end of this course, the students will be able to:
(1) analyse the relationship of work ethics, standards, bylaws, professionalism towards the role of
engineers as an agent of change. (C4, LO1)
(2) contribute to the role of an engineer in the real working environment locally and globally (P4,
LO9)
(3) concern the needs for sustainable development in professional engineering solutions. (A3, LO9)

SINOPSIS (SYNOPSIS)
This course will cover the introduction to professional ethics, theory and philosophy of ethics, values in
professional ethics, the role and responsibilities of an engineer, role of engineer as an agent of change,
engineering bylaws and standards, research and the development of an engineer, issues in professional
ethics, the role of an engineer in the globalisation era.
