Every School Day is Important! Student success begins with attendance.


Let your child know that you think school is important.
***St. Clair County schools will dismiss early on Friday, December 19th.***
Car Riders will be Dismissed at 11:15; Buses will run their normal routes.

Announcements
The Academic Booster Club is in need of Christmas wrapping paper, scotch tape, holiday ribbon,
bows, bags, and gift tags or labels to be used for Santa Shop.

As you are purchasing items for your holiday gift list, please consider buying a little
extra for the MMS Christmas Toy Drive. We will be collecting items December 1 - 19 to be
given to Shepherd Supply, a non-profit organization that helps local families in need.
The students and parents of Moody Middle School are always so generous, please
help us to continue the tradition of giving.

Shepherd Supply has ask for the following items: Board Games (ages 7-18) Hand
Weights, Basketballs, Footballs, Bath & Body Items (ages 8-18) Boys and Girls, Hygiene
items for boys and girls, Girls Toe Socks (ages 7-18), Age appropriate developmental
books, Earrings, Journals, Fishing poles and fishing accessories, Girly items (age 8-18),
Make up Kits ( light colors only) Movies for all ages (DVD), Uno Cards, Coloring Books
and Crayons

We will Finish our book study on the Book, Number the Stars by Lois Lowry. We will also work
on several types of reading skills.
Science - Mrs. Freeman (ginger.freeman@sccboe.org)
We are beginning our study of volcanoes. Students should have pages in their journal.
Social Studies - Mrs. Smith (april.smith@sccboe.org)
Your student has homework every night. They are to show you their Lesson Chronicles and
share what they have learned in class with you. This week we will focus on reviewing Lessons
14, 15, 16. Lesson 16 was not online. Students did lesson 16 on paper with the substitute on
Thursday. Our goal is to start Lesson 17 - They Went to Strike it Rich - by the End of the Week. I
am presently grading Lesson Chronicles for Topic 7 now, and hope to have progress monitoring
reports out by the weeks end. Please see the planner page of the website for any changes in
our schedule. To see the Lessons that your child is participating in, go to the classroom
