Aim

Making a botanical garden in order for students to know few types of vegetables
and flower while being exposed with chemical engineering course and UiTM.

ACTIVITY REPORT
All year 6 students were gathered at main hall by their teachers and
they were divided into three groups. When we arrived, we were welcomed by
Mrs. Rohana binti Mohd Zin which is their headmaster. After all the students
have been brief about the activity at that day, we were split into three
persons to handle one group of student. Each group consists of 13-14
persons consists of girls and boys.
At 8.30 a.m., all groups start their activity according to the briefing. At
10.30 a.m. all students have their recess while we continued with the
activity. After they have their recess, we let them try to trim trees, making a
plot for vegetables and flowers, paint the gates and also cleaned around the
garden.
We also ask each group to come up with team cheers in order to
determine which group is more creative. With the help from all the students,
we managed to finish early. We end the ceremony with handling plague to
the school for their warm welcome and let us to make a botanical garden at
their school. During the activities, we as students of UiTM manage to tell
them about this university and introduce them about chemical subject and
engineering courses.

PROGRAM ACHIEVEMENT
Overall, all the objectives of our program are achieved. This is because the
students are exposed with chemical engineering and UiTM. Even though, it is
not fully understanding but basically they know about UiTM and chemical
engineering course. Moreover, the students are actively involved during
these activities and they are enjoying it. Since, they will leave the school
after this, this botanical garden has become their memories that they give to
us and also to the school. All the staff at the school also helps us in providing
the tools that we did not have.
CHALLENGES/PROBLEMS
Since we come in separate car, one of the cars had been lost during the
convoy. However, we manage to gather at the school even though some of
the members arrived late due lost. In between our activities, we have
problems in having them under control. They are all active and we have
difficulties in order to maintain them in their groups. Besides, during our
gardening, it was raining therefore we have problem in drying the gates that
have been paint with colours. Besides, the program end a little late than
what that has been planned.
SOLUTIONS
In order to have the activities more smoothly in future, organizer should
prepared a lot of games in order to control them. Besides, it can help
students to keep attracted to the activities. Besides, the organizers should
ask for official vehicle so that there will be no members that are lost.
