Year 8 Ingredient Sheet

Dear Parent/Guardian,
The students will be cooking on the dates listed above and will need to bring in ingredients.
If there is any difficulties bringing in ingredients, for example, if there is a family emergency or similar urgent issue
meaning that you were unable to supply ingredients for that lesson please supply a note for your son or daughter. If there is
a financial issue supplying ingredients please provide your child with a note and I will call you. I would need to know this
several days prior to the lesson. Please bear in mind that failure to bring in ingredients will result in a one hour after school
detention for lack of equipment for learning, so if there is an issue I would need to know from yourselves.
When the students cook in lesson they will need a large container. This could be a Tupperware or an ice-cream tub and in
some cases an oven proof dish so they can cook it in the dish they take it home in. Please make me aware of any issues with
allergies and alternative ingredient can be used. All of the recipes can be adapted for vegetarians and usually have this
option listed.
Kind regards
Mrs Beagent
Homework
Students will need to prepare ingredients for each recipe at home. This will include weighing out of ingredients. If
you do not have scales at home they will need to come to the food room prior to the start of the day to weigh out.
This information can also be found on the VLE, including recipe booklets, ingredients lists and other homework set. It
is also on the student shared area at school. P:\students\DT\Mrs Beagent\y8 food
