Flier
Description:
Black and White promotional flier to advertise the graduate leadership conference.
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills):
The first step was to create detailed sketches of my flier design. After creating multiple sketches,
I used them as a reference when creating my digital design in Adobe InDesign. The image, logo,
and main text was provided by the course. I kept the main body text small in contrast to the
title, date, time and location information. I then created three boxes that vary in size from large to
small in conjunction with a gradient bar. I placed them on the top and bottom to create repetition
and unity within my flier.
Message:
In creating this flier the primary purpose is to catch the attention of recent graduates who are
looking to augment and improve their leadership skills, and learn what it takes to be a world
class leader.
Audience:
Target demographic is new graduates, males and females ages 22-32.
Top Thing Learned:
The most important thing I learned in doing this project is unifying all the elements through
repetition and contrasting objects.

green. I then went to capture my photo with those colors in mind as well as lighting, composition
and just making sure the photograph is interesting. I used my Nikon D3100 to capture the image
you see above. After capturing the image I brought the file into Photoshop to then place my
design on the photograph. I added a title, and incorporated my color scheme with the names of
each color and splotches of the colors. I converted the file to jpg and uploaded it.

Brochure
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills):
First thing I did to accomplish this project was to create a new logo that represented my
informational brochure and that was easy and memorable. I started off in Adobe Illustrator and
used the pen tool to create a tooth shape and then filled it with white. I also used the Anchor point
tool to change my points into curves so that I could create the correct anatomy of the tooth. I then
filled the center of my tooth with white and placed the DNBA( Dental National Board Association
inside the center of the tooth. Following that I created my brochure outline in Adobe InDesign. I
typed my information within word document and then proceeded to put them into a layout within
the dental brochure. I found images online and placed them within the informational brochure to
show procedural steps and explain further terminology terms.
Message:
I created this brochure as an informational brochure for incoming students and dentists that can
use this brochure to give an overview of the procedures.

it into Microsoft Word. I adjusted to margins to .13 on all edges and sized the image to fit the
page. I then used the shape tools to create a circle you see at the bottom of my ad for a place
to hold important information on who and where you can find the tickets to come. I then chose
different fonts in contrasting weights to make my title the main focal point. I learned a lot using the
design tab in Microsoft Word and I am excited to produce more work in Microsoft Word. Finally I
converted my Pdf to a Jpg ung http://pdf2jpg.net.
