2) For any substantial modifications or the maximum continuous rating of the engine is increased
by more than 10%
- For ships constructed prior to 1 January 2000, Tier I shall be applied to the engine onboard.
- For ships constructed on or after 1 January 2000, the standards in force at the time the ship
was constructed shall apply.
