IN OUR article Bench Warfare (July 31, 2014) we reported that there was a public campaign led by at least three top Supreme Court justices to force the new Chief Justice to quit his post. The three Supreme Court judges identified by us were Justices Philip McMurdo, Martin Daubney and David Boddice. After our original story was published these judges made a public statement in which they expressly confirmed that they were not involved in any public campaign. The next day in Wrong guy, but its time to move on we reported that the three judges had taken the unusual step of meticulously denying selective words in our original story. Our follow up story may have conveyed an impression that the public statement made by the judges was something less than a complete denial of the original allegations. We accept that the statement by Justices McMurdo, Daubney and Boddice that they were not involved in any public campaign against the Chief Justice was true and regret and apologise for any suggestion that their denial of such involvement was anything less than accurate and truthful.
