Digital Input / Output

Connector

The WitLink-2000 is the first radio system to incorporate front-loadable plug-ins to support diversified network
requirements. The WitLink-2000 range of auto-detecting plug-ins enable marketing channels and end-users to easily
choose application and interface preferences. Software-controlled "reduced capacity" utilizes Spectrum-on-Demand.
WitLink-2000 can scale from low capacity/low spectrum (such as 4xDS1/E1) to high capacity / larger spectrum without
the need to change existing hardware. Plus, these changes are field upgradable.
The Ethernet 10/100Base-T interface plug-in supports wireless bridge implementations. These implementations are
ideally suited for Service Providers (ISPs, video-on-demand, MTUs) and private networks. These plug-ins are comprised
of two 10/100Base-T ports (Full Duplex) + 4xDS1 (E1) ports. The plug-ins support full transparent bridging. The PDH
plug-ins can be used up to a maximum capacity of DS3+4DS1 (E3+1E1).

Outdoor Unit (ODU) and Antennas
The WitLink-2000 supports scalable data rates from 4xDS1
to DS3 + 4xDS1 (4xE1 to E3 + E1) with one indoor unit
(IDU). Integrating a fully digital design, WitLink-2000 is the
first system to offer a scalable solution, eliminating the need
to match IDU's to specific capacity requirements.
The flexible ODU/antenna combination is available in all
frequencies with ETSI and FCC approved versions.
The radio frequency components of the ODU are contained
within a hermetically-sealed enclosure.
The ODU may be press fitted onto the antenna using a special
connector and can be mounted on a mast, tower or rooftop.
This flexible design allows the ODU to be disconnected from
the antenna without affecting antenna alignment. One coaxial
cable is used to connect the ODU to the IDU. Power is provided to the ODU through this same single
cable.
The compact, aesthetic WitLink-2000 ODU is capacity independent as well, resulting in quicker
deployment and redeployment, simplified logistics and reduced spare par t requirements.

1+1 Redundancy Kits for 1 and 2 Antenna Configurations

WitView-EM: SNMP Element Manager

WitLink-2000 supports Hot Standby redundancy, with no single point

of failure. Redundancy is achieved by routing the tributary input lines via
a passive Redundant Switching Unit (RSU). The switchover logic is
performed in the RSU. Switching decisions are made according to H/W
and S/W failure indications (link status, RSL, BER, etc.) generated by each
IDU. A defective IDU or ODU can be easily removed without affecting
the operating link and replaced with no down time. The RSU is backup
powered by either IDU. The RDK (Redundancy Kit) is used to complete
a protected WitLink-2000 terminal.
The RDK-X2161-C-13-38-1ANT kit supports one antenna configuration,
for all frequencies, with unequal split RF Couplers. The kit includes the
RSU, redundant plug-in (RPI-X2161, E3+16E1 or DS3+16DS1) and the
upper and lower interconnection assemblies used to interconnect the
RSU with the two IDUs. The kit includes the ODU Protection Assembly
(OPA), which includes the ODU-1+1 mount, one RF directional coupler
and one rigid waveguide. Not included (per terminal side) are the 2 IDUs
and 2 redundant plug-ins, 2 ODUs, 1 antenna + mount, 2 coaxial cables
and one flexible waveguide used to interconnect between the OPA and
the selected antenna.
The RDK-X2161-2ANT kit supports two antenna configurations for all
frequencies. The kit includes the RSU, Redundant Plug-in (RPI-X2161,
E3+16E1 or DS3+16DS1) and the upper and lower interconnection
assemblies used to interconnect the RSU with the two IDUs. Each of the
two ODUs are individually connected to an antenna. It is possible to
mount the ODUs directly to the antennas, or use a flexible waveguide
(requires mount-1+0 to mount the ODU on the pole). Not included (per
terminal side) are the 2 IDUs and 2 redundant plug-ins, 2 ODUs, 2 antennas
+ mounts, and 2 coaxial cables.

WitView-EM is an intuitive, pro-active element network

management system with enhanced diagnostic and
performance monitoring tools. It provides open, reliable
and user-friendly GUI-based SNMP management. Based
on a standard SNMP platform, WitView-EM can be
integrated with HP OpenView or used as a stand-alone
management application.
WitView-EM suppor ts local and remote terminal
configurations, status/alarm reporting, traps, statistics (per
G.826) and diagnostics. WitView-EM provides the SNMP
tool to proactively manage all links from a single operator
console, over IP. WitView-EM runs on Microsoft Windows
95/98/2000 or NT stations.
WitView-EM, as a standalone SNMP application, is included
with each link. The embedded SNMP agent in each WitLink2000 IDU implements standard IEFT/RFC MIB II Ethernet,
E1/DS1, E3/DS3 MIBs, and private WitLink-2000 MIB
extensions that enable remote monitoring and control of
the entire link or complete network from a single point.
An incorporated RIP Protocol enables simultaneous
management of all radio links. All radio links can be easily
in-band or out-of-band controlled from the management
station. All system parameters are software configurable.
Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) enables remote
software and configuration upgrading.
