Workedperfectlyfirsttime,notroubleshootingrequired.IamatelevisionbroadcastengineerforourlocalgovernmentTV
station,andmyhobbyisrestoringoldaudiotaperecorders.IhavewantedanESRmeterforyears,butlocallytheonlyunit
partsdistributorscarryistheB&K885/6atover$750.00US.Waytoomuchforahobbyist!Thanksformaking thiskit

Yes,thekitarrivedquicklyandinperfectshape.Iputitrighttogetherinabout5hoursanditworked
perfectlythefirsttimeIturnediton.Ireallylikeitveryaccurateaftercalibrationwiththeveryaccurate
calresistors.Iuseittoseethatmyhamantennaismakinggoodcontactthroughthejointstoeachelement
aswellasacheckonthestateofcomputerpowersupplies.YoucanmeasuretheESRofthecomputer
output
filtersbyprobingthecontactsofthebigconnectorthatplugsintothemotherboard(afterunpluggingitand
allthedrivesthatalsousepower).
It'sworthkeepingtrackoftheseESRreadingsevery6monthsorsotokeepfromhavingharddrivefailure
duetopowersupplyproblems.IalsouseittochecktheESRofZenerregulatorsandnewlychargedAA
andAAAcells.ItookaboutaweektolookatalltheESRcircuitsonthewebandcompeting
ESRMeters.Yoursstoodoutstronglyfromtherestwiththe99+90+90=279readingresolutionofthe
threeranges,thezeroing,andtheautoturnofffeature.IpreferredittotheEVBdesignoutofPortugal
because
ofitsstrongercase,largerbatteryandnoinputprotectiondiodesonthePCB(I'dratheraddthem
externally).
