Photo

Description

Using photography and Photoshop to create a

quality image.

Date

Course/instructor

Comm 130 sec. 8, Brother Pingel

Objectives

Learn photography skills and how to manipulate

them in Photoshop.

Program(s)
Photoshop

Process

First of all I set up the objects that I wanted in my

photo in a place I knew would match my color
scheme. I then went into Photoshop and placed
my photo. I saturated the photo so that the
colors would be brighter. I also created a mask
on the neck of the guitar so that I could place it
over the bars that I decided to place on the top
and side. With the boxes on the side I created
a weave pattern. On the vertical bar a created a
gradient on the end. I identified the colors and
color scheme with text inside the boxes.

Objectives

Learn HTML and CSS to create and design a

functioning web page.

Program(s)
Notepad ++

Process

I started by creating the main content in an HTML

document using Notepad ++. That consisted of
all the words and the logo. I then linked a CSS
document into the HTML where I had a border
and styled the fonts and headings. I also inserted
an image into the background.

Objectives

Use several programs and especially InDesign to

order a format that can be printed and cut.

Program(s)

Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign

Process

First I made a format on InDesign so that I knew

where I wanted to place my items. Then I went
Online and found all the images and took a
picture of myself. I used Photoshop to blend
images and to cut them out so that they could
be used as pngs. I created the logo in Illustrator
and decided on my color scheme from there.
After all of my images were ready, I placed them
all in the format in InDesign and then inserted
text that was prepared in Word. I then put boxes
behind the text to make it more legible.

companies and portray a message.

Objectives

Learn how Adobe Illustrator works and how to

create vector graphics.

Program(s)
Illustrator

Process

The process was pretty simple. First I created

three different logos for KK Burritos using the
pen tool and shape tool. I made a burrito shape
with a bite mark, a chili pepper, and a sheriff star
with a bullet hole and bullet. After using shapes
and different text to create these logos I asked
10 people about what logo they liked best and
which one they thought portrayed the message
the best.

Objectives

Learn more about branding and how to use it

across different areas.

Program(s)

Illustrator and InDesign.

Process

The first thing was to create a new original logo

in Adobe Illustrator. After that was done I worked
on creating a business card. I created a box in
InDesign and filled it with light brown. I used the
logo on one side with a phrase. On the other side
I put the logo smaller and contact information
for the representative and the company. I also
repeated the element of the hat from the logo.

Program(s)

Illustrator and InDesign.

Process

After creating the business card from the last

page, I wanted to created a letterhead for the
company to use as well. This one was simple.
I used the same logo and copied over the
information from the business card. I then used
a repeating element of the hat to cover the top
and bottom of the page to center the attention
of the reader to the letter.

Description

Blending separate images together so that they

create one message as a whole.

Objectives

Learn more about how to use Photoshop and

how it can manipulate images.

Program(s)
Photoshop

Process

First thing I wanted to do was to find a good

message. After I had my message I decided that
I wanted to have a group of people coming
together. I also wanted a symbol of charity or
helpfulness. I used a crowd in the background
and overlayed it with a blue cement like texture
and then added a paint daub effect so that it
wasnt as strong. I then placed the image of
2 hands in the front and blended them out. I
shifted everything over and left a dark space to
the side and entered text with different fonts to
emphasize my message.

Objectives

Introduction to Adobe InDesign and how to

create an informational design.

Program(s)
InDesign

Process

First thing was to retrieve given images. I then

placed those images in an InDesign file with a
created file folder. I then used design principles
of flow and repeating elements to created
rectangles that guide the reader through the
information on the sheet.

Objectives

Learning how to use Microsoft Word to makes

designs and how to scan a quality image.

Program(s)
Word

Process

The first thing I had to do was scan an image.

I created a montage of Pokemon cards. I then
copied that image into a word document. From
there I used text boxes to format my text. I also
copied some images of Pokemon and cut out the
backgrounds using Word. I also created a fill on
the text boxes and a border to make them look
like cards. The image I had scanned earlier I gave
feathered edges and gave it an 80% opacity so it
wouldnt be too dominate. I then used it as the
background.

Objectives

Learn how to create an accurate model using BIM

technology and Render a quality image.

Program(s)

Revit and Photoshop

Process

I first had to create a model of a house using

basic floor plans. Using Revit, I could assign
materials to the building and create a land scape.
I then used the software to import an image
behind the image and to render the model as a
quality image. After the rendering was complete,
I pulled the image into Photoshop and blurred
some lines so that they werent as sharp and
I inserted a texture under the rocks so that it
would look more realistic.

Program(s)
Revit

Process

I first had to create a model of a house using

basic floor plans. Using Revit, I could assign
materials to the building and create an interior.
I then used an angle from inside the home to
render an image. For the rendering I found an
image to place outside and I adjusted the angle
of the sun so that it would feel more natural.
