Montage
Description: Montage
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): I used both Photoshop alone for this project. I grabbed some
images from the interned that were larger so the picture would come together. I had sketched an
idea to a quote and started to design it, until I found out that the quote was a lie and wasnt true.
So it was back to the drawing board. I found a quote I liked and started there. I found the images
that I liked and started designing. I really liked Brother Kerrs typography from his project and I
ran with it. Its not near as good but took the longest time. Position and flow took awhile because
the sketch didnt capture the picture and position. After a found the right place it all came together.
Message: Religious/ Hope
Audience: Anyone who need inspiration
Top Thing Learned: Use of Photoshop to enhance my pictures. Overlay to bring the opacity of the
picture, a mask and brush to soften the picture. And I used a drop shadow and used the sun as the
source of the drop shadow. Gave it a cool look
Color scheme and color names: Split complementary. Dont have my book with me but blue orange and violet.

Logos
Description: These are the three logos that I created. The business is a music company.
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): Program I used was illustrator, the tools I used the most was
the pen tool. For the first tool I used the pen tool to make the words look like a cable that goes to
a guitar. Then I used the shape tool to make the end plug. The second logo I found a picture of a
V guitar and then traced it with the pen tool. It pretty easy considering all the angles were sharp
angles. Then made it look like an A. Some how that image I made looked linked with the whole
document. So I had to keep it blue. The last was use of repetition and sound waves to really bring
the eye to the center.
Message: Music company
Audience: Mostly guitar players or bands.
Top Thing Learned: Use to the pen tool.
Three Color Scheme and Color Names: Mono Chromatic for all of them, and one black and
white.
Three sets of Title / Body Font Names & Categories: Its hard because I altered most of all the texts
but I used Andol Mono for most of them.

Top Logo = _2__; Middle Logo = __1_; Bottom Logo = _3__;

Webpage
Description: This webpage is to show my logo for AMP industries. These are the different processes and design principles behind this project.
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): Tricks I used for the logo was a lot of the pen tool. This made it
easy to create the guitar because this particular guitar has a lot of straight lines and I was able to
trace a photo of a guitar. I then created the inside by forming a shape, then using the path finder
tool and cutting it out so the logo would be transparent.
Creating the website I used a similar format as the activity, but I built on top of it. The biggest
thing I would say is that I created a container in the CSS, gave it a color, then made it transparent.
I played with a lot of different colors but I really like the black and white feel. I then made all the
edges rounded instead of curved. Giving it a softer feel.
Message: Music
Audience: The target audience is musicians, mainly guitar players but any one who loves music. I
could see this as a music store that sells more then just guitars, but the audience is mostly musicians.
Top Thing Learned: HTML programing. I had a lot of help from my brother. I did all the coding
he just watched me do it all from a screen share and told me how and why things go the way they
are. It was difficult for him because he could have done what took me hours to do in a matter of
minutes. But I gained a strong understanding on the basic of css and HTML.
Color scheme and color hex(s): Blue was the color that I decided to take because its a non-aggressive color but still has a lot of contrast on white or black. Its a simple color scheme like most of
my logos that I use. My webpage follows the color scheme of my logo and is a very mono chromatic with a lot of white and black contrast.

Business Card
Description: Business card
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): The business that I partnered with this last year decided to get
rid of the people that have been doing all their designing. By doing that they didnt have a vector logo for the company. I told them I would do a very similar design as their old one but with
my own fonts and colors. So I designed that in illustrator. A lot of referencing the old logo. It
was a simple logo and so that wasnt a terribly hard part. But for my business cards because Im
a recruiter for the company I needed something a little flashier. So I used illustrator and a brush
to give me a splatter effect. I used the pen tool and shape tool for both the letter head, logo and
business card.
Message: The letter head needed to be professional. But the business card had to be a bit more fun
and flashy.
Audience: 19-25 year old males
Top Thing Learned: Being able to hit a target market
Color scheme and color names: mostly monochromatic. Especially the letter head with the different shade of blue.

Flyer
Description: Project 1 Flyer
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): I used InDesign CS6 for this project. I actually used the shape
tool but I used the Pen tool a lot. This was used to cause the shapes that I have through out the
middle. I also used the pen tool for the text boxes so that the text bent along with the shape.
Message: I was going to a professional and business flyer. But at the same time I didnt want to be
blocky and boring. I used the shape to stand out. Also, the alignment of the circle overlapping in
the picture causes the eye to track where I want it.
Audience: Looking for business, Communication graduates. Hence the professional look with a
designer feel.
Top Thing Learned: I was really trying to be creative. I wanted to think outside the box. But at
the same time I wanted to be professional. The top thing I learned in this project is the how much
searching and seeing different designs help.

Event Ad
Description: Project 2 flyer
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): This was done all in Microsoft word. The image was scanned in
by me. I also created this image with nail polish and paper. I waited for it to dry then scanned it
into the printer. Also, it wasnt completely dry and there was some nail polish in my scanner that I
had to get off with cologne because my wife didnt have nail polish remover.
Message: Simple, but effective. Almost a bit morbid look
Audience: anyone willing to donate blood at the redcross
Color scheme and color names: All red and white or grey.
Top Thing Learned: The most difficult thing that I had while doing this project is my image that
I scanned, even though it was done on white printer paper, it gave it a grey tone. Which I didnt
know what to do because we arent allowed to use Photoshop to trim or crop the image. So I had
to adjust the whole image to be a grey tone. Not my favorite. But it will work. I know if I could use
Photoshop to crop this image I could make it with the white.

Imaging
Description: P3 Photodesign project
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): I used both Photoshop and Illustrator. The reason I used Illustrator was because no matter where I looked there was no way I could get a flat symbol. So I had
to trace one with the pen tool in illustrator so that I could get that one little simple symbol.
Message: Music brings life to life
Audience: Musicians and anyone that loves music
Top Thing Learned: That its extremely difficult to find a flat symbol. But the number thing that
I learned was how to alter light, and brightness to my photos. With I feel that I can bring my photography to another level with the use of Photoshop.
Color scheme and color names: Complementary- Blue- Gold

Brochure
Description: Brochure
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): I used all three Adobe programs. I used Photoshop to edit and
crop my images, I used illustrator to design my logo, and InDesign to organize the project.
Message: Learning is fun
Audience: Teachers and students
Top Thing Learned: Using a mock fold really helps gain the bigger picture of what I want my design to look like. This saved a lot of time. Then I took it to the printers and printed a couple copies
and these were the trials. I altered and finally got what I wanted.
