A Message from Reverend Lanier. . .

Faithful Ministers
he prophet that hath a dream, let him
tell a dream; and he that hath my
word, let him speak my word
faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat?
saith the LORD. Jeremiah 23:28
As ministers we must always be
careful not to mix up any other thing with
the Word of the Living God. Some go
around with good intentions and try to
inspire people with their dream. Good
intentions and dreams are not, however
infallible (unable to fall) and inerrant
(without error).
Only the proven,
preserved eternal Word of God stands
alone as Gods word to man and the final
authority in all matters of faith, practice,
morality, life, death, past, present and
future. No man while sitting in a special
chair is able to speak infallibly. There is
Gods word; all else is chaff. So says
Jeremiah. It is truly a blessing to have

Gods word for our times, as all of Gods

people through the years.
The minister of Jesus Christ must
faithfully handle and speak Gods word.
First, he must be found faithful (I Cor.
4:2). He must be faithful. Made so by
the Lord Jesus. Second, he must put
forward both the character and reputation
of faithfulness to the Lord and His things
(Colossians 4:12). Third, he must be a
follower of the Word and not a lord over
the flock. If you want people to follow,
lead and give them an example (I Peter
5:3). Fourth, he has to finish well. All of
us want to hear that final word from our
Lord, ...well done, thou good and faithful
servant as the servant received the word
from his lord (Matthew 25:23). Lastly, the
people we minister unto must benefit from
the preachers labor (Colossians 1:2). Real
fruit in the lives of those who come to hear
Gods word. (He that is faithful in that
which is least is faithful also in much:
Luke 16:10a).
Paul writes of his fellow ministers in
Colosse where Epaphras was the local
preacher. It was evident that this man was

doing the job because the folks there were
hearing and doing what was preached. They
had their trials, but their preacher was a
man that had the WORD and was giving it
out (Colossians 1:2, 7, 4:12). Later, Paul
commends other men (Tychicus 4:7) and
(Onesimus 4:9) who were helpers of the
Gospel ministry. There were many, but
these two were called faithful. Epaphras
wanted his brethren ...to stand perfect and
complete in all the will of God. Let us
lose the I, me, my, mine and get to the
business of ...speak My Word faithfully.

God Delights in Helping His
Children by Dr. Tim Cruse
The

righteous cry, and the LORD

heareth, and delivereth them out of all
their troubles. The LORD is nigh unto
them that are of a broken heart; and
saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
Many are the afflictions of the
righteous: but the LORD delivereth him
out of them all.Psalm 34:1719
Think on these great truths:
We crythe LORD hears
We strugglethe LORD draws nigh
We are afflictedthe LORD delivers
We serve a God who is powerful.
There is nothing too hard for Him, and
with Him all things are possible!

Jesus. Oh, how He delights in us when

we humble ourselves and trust Him in
the trials of life. Whether we cry or
sigh, the LORD is nigh.

Thank You
The recent ministry of Rev. Reaves here
and the time of fellowship afterward and
those who helped.
Durham Rescue Mission
Help us to get things together to take to
the good work of Brother Mills in
Durham.
Canned food, clothes,
childrens toys, etc., will help the needs
there. Boxes are placed so you may
bring in the needed items.
Land Purchase
Pray still for the finalization of one of the
Churchs long term goals.
Christmas Offering
The important and exciting season will
be coming soon. Pray and get ready to
give as the Lord leads in our once a year
offering.

We serve a God who is personal. He

who created and oversees all things and
people knows us by name and is privy
to the intimate needs of our lives.

Daylight Time
Our clocks will change November 2, a
week from Sunday. Back one hour!

We serve a God who is pleased. The

sacrifice of Christ on the cross satisfied
His righteous judgment. There is no
condemnation to them that are in Christ

Thank God for His Faithfulness!!
