A Message from Reverend Lanier...

I Corinthians 15:1-7
oreover, brethren, I declare unto
you the gospel which I preached
unto you, which also ye have
received, and wherein ye stand;
2: By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in
memory what I preached unto you, unless ye
have believed in vain.
3: For I delivered unto you first of all that
which I also received, how that Christ died
for our sins according to the scriptures;
4: And that he was buried, and that he rose
again the third day according to the
scriptures:
5: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of
the twelve:
6: After that, he was seen of above five
hundred brethren at once; of whom the
greater part remain unto this present, but
some are fallen asleep.
7: After that, he was seen of James; then of
all the apostles.
8: And last of all he was seen of me also, as
of one born out of due time.
Acts 1:9-11
nd when he had spoken these things,
while they beheld, he was taken up;

and a cloud received him out of their sight.

10: And while they looked stedfastly toward
heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood
by them in white apparel;
11: Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why
stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same
Jesus, which is taken up from you into
heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye
have seen him go into heaven.

Easter, the Time of year we celebrate the
Resurrection of Jesus. Other factual events
include His death, Burial, and later ascension
from the Mount of Olives as the Apostles
looked on. These are fundamentals of the
Christian faith. Here in these verses we have
three of the seven Fundamentals. The other
four are: Gods infallible Word; Jesus Virgin
Birth; His Perfect, Sinless life; and, His
immanent return ...in like manner.
Todays important point is that Jesus made
many appearances after His Resurrection.
From one on one to many at one time. In
like manner, after He had given an apostolic
commission (Acts 1:8), they and WE are to
make His message known ...to the uttermost
part of the earth.

So, after Easter, may you and I get about and

make Jesus known. Through His people, He
STILL makes appearances in this old world.
We are not Christ, but Christians doing His
work. The Lord be with you!

As our church family discovers every year,

hundreds of people will attend a gospelpreaching church on Easter Sunday based on
a simple invitation, hand delivered to their
doorstep.

Christ Liveth in Me

Each year, our church family works to

prepare an Easter presentation celebrating the
resurrection. The choir, orchestra, and a
drama team work diligently to produce a
presentation of Christs love, sacrificial death,
and the power of the resurrection.

by Daniel Whittle
(1) Once far from God and dead in sin,
No light my heart could see, But in Gods
Word the light I found - Now Christ
liveth in me.
(4) With longing all my heart is filled
That like Him I may be, As on the
wondrous thought I dwell, That Christ
liveth in me.
Chorus:
Christ liveth in me, Christ liveth in me; O
what a salvation this - That Christ liveth
in me.

The Opportunity Easter Presents:

Easter Is an Excellent Opportunity to
Share the Gospel
by Dr. Paul Chappell
The resurrection of Christ is the
distinguishing event of Christianity and the
critical point in our salvation (1 Corinthians
15:1719). The Great Commission is the
critical command in spreading the gospel
(Matthew 28:1920), and our obedience to
this command is the distinguishing mark of a
growing church.
Not only are we specifically commanded by
Christ to carry the message of the Gospel,
but we are constrained by the love of Christ
to tell the world of our Saviour and His gift
of eternal life (2 Corinthians 5:1415).
The celebration of Resurrection Sunday
presents a golden opportunity for obeying
Christs command and making the offer of
salvation known to our community.
Of all the Sundays of the year, this is the one
when many unchurched people will plan to
attend church somewhere for Easter. Many
of these people have no real basis for
deciding which church to attend. They will
choose the church nearest them or one of the
denomination their grandparents attendedor
one to which they are specifically invited.

In the weeks leading up to Resurrection

Sunday, we canvas our community inviting
people to come. People invite their families,
neighbors, coworkers, and friends to this
event. And each year, many people trust
Christ as their Saviour.
All of us should have the deepest gratefulness
for Christs death for us, and we should
enthusiastically rejoice in His resurrection.
What better way to do both than to obey His
Great Commission?
What are you doing to make Christs
resurrection known? Who specifically are you
praying for and making an effort to reach
with the gospel during this season? Lets not
miss this opportunity!
