Logos
Description:

After I graduate I plan on teaching my own yoga classes so I created these three logos for
my future business.

Programs/Tools:
To create these logos I used Adobe Illustrator. I used tools like the shape tool, the pen tool,
and the eyedropper tool.

Objectives:

Create three completely different, original logos to fit a company or personal image that
will appeal to the audience.
Use only Illustrator.

Process:

To create these logos I first had to sketch out my ideas. I went into Illustrator and used the
pen tool to create the first design and the rectangle tool for the second design and the pen
tool for the third design. Then I used text boxes to fill in my words.

Business Card
Description:

We had to create stationery (a business card) for a ompany or person. I will have my own
yoga business someday so I created a business card for that.

Programs/Tools:
In Adobe Illustrator I created my logo and then transferred that into Adobe InDesign to
create my businesss card.

Objectives:

Create a logo to fit a company or personal image.

Use the logo to create a business card.

Process:

In Adobe Illustrator I created my logo with the pen tool and the text box. Then I transferred
that into Adobe InDesign where I made the outline of my business card using the rectangle
tool and then filled it in with the eyedropper tool.

Letterhead
Description:

We had to create stationery (letterhead) for a company or person. I will have my own yoga

I first created my logo in Adobe Illustrator and then transferred that into Adobe InDesign
where I created my letterhead.

Objectives:

Use the logo to create a letterhead.
Include contact information.

Process:

In Adobe Illustrator I created my logo with the pen tool and the text box. Then I transferred
that into Adobe InDesign where I made the logo a little bigger and put it at the top of my
page. I used the text box to fill in the rest of my information.

Webpage
Description:

This webpage was inspired by my passion for doing yoga and to showcase the logo I
designed for my yoga business.

Programs/Tools:
For this project I used TextWrangler. I had a little background in using TextWrangler and
HTML but this was my first time using CSS. I created the webpage using the different
coding languages and was able to insert my image and change the style of the webpage to
fit my style and needs.

Objectives:

Write content to describe the process of creating your logo and how it appeals to a target
audience. Aquire a working knowledge of HTML and CSS.

Process:

Using TextWrangler I used HTML and CSS to code my webpage. I had to use the website
www.w3schools.com to learn how to do change the color and shape. I also added a
background to my webpage.

Brochure
Description:

This is an informative brochure I created about the pine tress in Yellowstone National Park.

Programs/Tools:
I used Adobe Illustrator to create my logo which is located on the borrom of the back. I
used tools like the circle tool and the text box tool to create my logo. I also used Adobe
InDesign to create the rest of my brochure.

Objectives:

Set up and align a two-sided, folded document.

Create an original, new logo and use it in a brochure.
Incorporate at least four quality images.

Process:

First I created my logo in Adobe Illustrator using the circle tool and the text box. I transferred that to Adobe InDesign where I used the place tool to add in my pictures and the text
box to create my paragraphs.

Imaging
Description:

This is a photograph I took of some mugs in a kitchen.

Programs/Tools:
I used photoshop to edit my picture and I used tools like the vibrance tool and the levels
tool to give it the look I wanted.

Objectives:

Learn basic photography skills.

Choose and color scheme and incorporate it into the picture.
Adjust the image levels, saturation and sharpen tool on separate layers.

Process:

I took a picture of the mugs and made them the focus in the foreground. Then in Adobe
Photoshop I adjusted the image levels and saturation. I went with a monochromatic color
scheme and added in a quote I felt went with the photo.

Montage
Description:

This is a montage I put together of a woman meditating and a picture of a stormy sky with
a quote.

Programs/Tools:
I used Adobe Photoshop and various tools like the lasso tool and the masking tool.

Objectives:

Unify a layout with a consistent theme nd a dominant spiritual message.

Learn to blend two or more images together using masks.
Apply typography principles.

Process:

I found the two images and quote I wanted to use. I opened the images up in Photoshop
and used the lasso and feathering tool to cut out the girl meditating. I then placed her on the
other picture and used the mask tool to blend it. Then I added in my quote.

Event Ad
Description:

This is an event ad for a benefit yoga event I made up.

Programs/Tools:
I used Microsoft Word to create this event ad.

Objectives:

Find, scan and import a high-quality image.

Create a full-bleed design.
Use only Microsoft word.

Process:

I found an image of a guy doing yoga and in Microsoft word I cropped him out and placed
him on a new page where I used a grey monochromatic color scheme and typed in the
words where I wanted them.
