Course Description:
This course is designed to help students develop ability to recognize language
structures that are used correctly and to identify word and phrases that are used
incorrectly. Since this course is adapted from the section two of TOEFL, it consists of
two parts both structure and written expression.
Goals:
The course is aimed to develop students ability to identify the correct word, phrases,
or clauses needed to complete individual sentences and to detect errors in standard
written English sentences. Therefore, by the end of this course, they will be able to
answer the section two of TOEFL questions.

Course Activity Guideline:


1. The class activities are in the form of:
Giving brief presentation (Each presentation is not more that 30 minutes).
Discussing the questions provided by the presenter.
Checking understanding by answering questions provided by the lecturer and
discussing it.
Optional: Supplementary material and Material Review may be presented
during the course.
2. The class will be divided into groups based on the number of course materials.
Before giving presentation, each group should provide the presentation handout
for the class member and hand in the primary handout as well as the soft copy
file.
Projects:
Before the FINAL EXAM, students are required to collect portfolio that cover all
material of the courses. Make sure the portfolio organization consists of:
- topics
- definition/ explanation
- example
- example of TOEFL questions
