My belief in god is motivated by the following factors

1. Consciousness
Evolution could have taken millions of years to bring us to what we are now. It
is an effective and systematic process that ensures the propagation of the
best genes. But still I am at loss to explain how exactly the concept of I
evolved from this process. I can understand to some extent how our bodies
have tuned to be more efficient with the surrounding conditions. The process
of evolution of physical body makes sense but it is still magic to me as to how
atoms constitute to become living cells that develops an idea of self. A
though process that acknowledges I exists. I am a separate functioning
entity who has an identity that is more than some combination of atoms and
molecules. Such deep rooted consciousness astounds me. Trying to figure out
the cause of such consciousness makes me move towards God.
2. Love.
Unconditional love always amazes me. Many relationships express loves in
different forms. The love of a mother to her child is a strong example. You can
explain it as a way nature has evolved life to continue its survival but to
understand it to the core or to express acts of love with complete rationality
might never be possible. I associate love to be a trait of godliness. Random
events generating life that is capable of demonstrating such strong feelings is
not a satisfying answer to me. Just experiencing unconditional love showered
upon gives me a feeling that could at best be explained as mystery.
With my former questions on consciousness I argue that there is a need for a
better explanation for its origin. My arguments for emotions like love is that there
always exists a cloud of irrationality on every being.
I assume that an atheist position is that
i.

everything originated from chance

ii.

we are nothing but material constituents making up our body

iii.

hence all we are is nothing but a combination of chemicals

If that is the case,

1. Why do you strongly associate yourself with an identity?
2. What do you mean when you love someone?
To be more precise, Is a mere arrangement of molecules capable of emoting
mental states that in the first place associates itself to an identity and other
similar arrangements to a different identity and establish relationships
between such groupings ?
Well you can accuse me that I am using god of gaps arguments, or that such
intriguing matters does not mandate the existence of god however I do not claim

anything. I merely believe that there is a possibility for existence of a higher

order of consciousness that could be the answer to the ordered chaos we are
experiencing.
You do not believe in the existence of god unless evidence is presented. I do not
believe in inexistence of god unless evidence is presented. Again, why I do not
believe in Santa Claus or an orbiting tea pot is because it is not significant to my
existence. As a human I have learnt to experience the world with cause and
effect relationship. I attribute the cause for the unexplained orderliness to an
entity than to chance or randomness.
