PRESENTACIN
El siguiente curso es el primero de los seis (6) que constituyen el programa de Ingls de la Universidad de
Cartagena. Es un mdulo diseado para formar la base necesaria para un dominio inicial de la lengua inglesa.
Este nivel es para estudiantes principiantes o que han visto un ingls muy limitado y desean retomar el estudio
del idioma Ingls. El curso es enseado en ingls y el uso de espaol est reservado para clarificacin y
ciertas explicaciones gramaticales. Al final de este mdulo los estudiantes alcanzarn el nivel A1.1 (Bsico),
tomando como referencia el Marco Comn Europeo.
JUSTIFICACIN
El aprendizaje de una lengua extranjera permite el contacto con otras culturas y el acceso a informacin
actualizada; el idioma Ingls tiene el reconocimiento de ser una lengua universal lo que lo convierte en una
herramienta importante en la formacin de tcnicos, tecnlogos y profesionales competitivos en los diferentes
campos del saber y el mercado laboral.
OBJETIVO GENERAL DEL CURSO
Dotar a los estudiantes con las competencias comunicativas necesarias y adecuadas, y guiarlos en el uso de
ellas para alcanzar el nivel A1.1 (Bsico), tomando como referencia el Marco Comn Europeo.
OBJETIVOS ESPECFICOS DEL CURSO
Realizar afirmaciones y preguntas sencillas en reas de necesidad inmediata o relativa temas muy
cotidianos.
Describir personas y lugares familiares.
Utilizar estructuras sencillas para dar informacin personal acerca de su familia y su entorno.
Utilizar vocabulario especfico para solicitar o dar informacin acerca de temas cotidianos y
familiares con ciertas limitaciones lingsticas.
METODOLOGA
Este curso se desarrollar mediante la modalidad presencial en nueve (9) horas semanales durante 7 semanas.
Se llevarn a cabo actividades que permitan desarrollar competencia comunicativa en ingls, tales como
dilogos, actividades de escucha y escritura, comprensiones de lectura contextualizadas y significativas para
los estudiantes, teniendo en cuenta sus estilos de aprendizaje, intereses, gustos, necesidades, y los objetivos
del programa de Ingls de la Universidad de Cartagena.
Los estudiantes tendrn una participacin activa en cada sesin presencial y tendrn la oportunidad de avanzar
en su conocimiento con asignacin de tareas. Utilizaremos material educativo adaptado para la enseanza del
ingls y textos y discursos autnticos que reflejen el uso real del idioma en situaciones de la vida diaria. El
estudiante dispondr de diferentes recursos audiovisuales tales como grabadoras, video beam, televisores,
salas de informtica, entre otros.

EVALUACIN
Se evaluarn las cuatro habilidades comunicativas a travs de pruebas de tipo oral y escrito teniendo en cuenta
los objetivos del nivel durante el trimestre con las cuales el docente podr medir el progreso de su estudiante
en el rea y al mismo tiempo tomar los correctivos necesarios para convertir en fortalezas las debilidades que
puedan presentarse. Durante cada corte las actividades realizadas en clase y las tareas tendrn un valor de
60% y el examen 40%. Las evaluaciones se realizaran en tres cortes as:

Tercer corte: 40%.

Description
Full participation in class activities including class discussions,
without relying upon Spanish. Completion of in-class and
homework assignments. Attitude and behavior which
contribute positively to the class. Quizzes may be announced or
unannounced and the format may vary. Quizzes may be given
at any point during class time.
Each cut, students will complete a formal writing assignment.
All formal writing assignments must be a Word Document, 12
pt font, times new roman, double-spaced, with normal margins
(2.5cm and 3cm). Students must follow these requirements
unless otherwise instructed by their professor. Page length may
vary.
Exams are given at the end of each of the three academic cuts to
evaluate a students acquisition of grammar, vocabulary, as well
as communicative and language skills covered during the cut.
Your professor will explain the procedure and content
approximately a week before each exam.
Individually or in pairs, students will work to produce creative,
original presentations that incorporate various language skills
and themes. Your professor will explain the procedure and
content approximately one week before the presentation is due.
