THE RUSSELL REPORT

Dec. 17, 2014

Dear Prayer Partners:

As we wrap up 2014 we are humbled and thank God for the many
opportunities to serve Him in several different countries this year.
2014 MINISTRY HIGHLIGHTS:
1. In May Nikki and I traveled to Costa Rica. God is greatly using a
special ministry we have there called TACTICA, a ministry reaching
out to law enforcement families. Several of their families and Missionaries to Latin America & the Caribbean
extended families have come to Christ, been discipled, baptized and
added to the church.
2. Our trip to Nicaragua. There our team has a unique ministry where we teach farming skills to nationals. This
ministry is one of several ways we make contact with the unsaved so
that we might present them with the gospel. We also have a great camp
ministry there that sees thousands of young people and families every
year. And we have a great Church-Planters Institute there. Since 2007
this Church-Planters Institute has trained close to 40 Nicaraguan
pastors that have gone out and started some 30 new churches.
3.
In August we traveled to Montevideo, Uruguay to do a survey
trip. We participated on a team that investigated Uruguay to see if we
could open this country with new missionary presence. Currently no
ABWE missionaries serve there. It is a field white unto harvest but we
have no one to help us open this field. Could God be calling you to
go?
4.
Later we traveled to
Buenos Aires, Argentina. In
With Pastor Gabriel (from Chile) now
pastoring in San Jose, Costa Rica

addition to preaching on
Sunday, Scott helped to teach
a course on evangelism and discipleship called Good Soil E & D to
some 50 pastors and lay leaders. One church then taught this course to
their church family and have now organized themselves to go out and
win others to Christ using this material. It is exciting when that
happens!
5.
September - our trip to Ecuador.
Thank you to those who gave so that
Nikki could be part of this ministry trip.
I was so glad she was with me
especially after seeing how God used
her to minister to the ladies there. We
led in team devotions and were able to
strategize with the missionary team for
the future of church planting in Pastor Javier building a multi-purpose
building at the Nicaragua Ministry Center
Ecuador.
6.
One of our greatest highlights of the year was our trip to Brazil in
October. First we traveled to Recife to check on our ministries there. Then we
traveled to Arcoverde (i.e., The Outback of Brazil). It is a brand new pioneer
work. One of our missionaries has developed an American football ministry that

has allowed him to make many contacts for our new church plant there. God is

greatly using this ministry. Then we traveled to Fortaleza where we participated
Stephen and Amanda Dickson. She is
in a worship and training conference for our entire missionary team that serves in

Brazil. While in Fortaleza we also visited our Brazilian mission agency (called Maranatha Multicultural
Ministries) which has 33 Brazilians serving as missionaries in approx.. 12 countries. God is greatly using our
Brazilian leadership to get the gospel out!
For 2015, we plan to travel and minister in our works in the
Caribbean (including Jamaica in February, and hopefully
also St. Thomas where we have a Bible College training
nationals for ministry). Sometime in the year we will be
traveling to Mexico and to other places in Brazil. Then in
October, we will be traveling to Panama City, Panama for a
training conference. We look forward to serving with all our
missionaries in these places.
SPECIAL YEAR-END TAX DEDUCTIBLE
CHARITABLE GIFTS NEEDED:
1. Our greatest need right now: Our ministry funds
account. If youd like to help, you can give online by
going to: http://www.abwe.org/give/online You can
insert our name or our account number which is
#110033. We could really use your help here as we are Scott teaching "Good Soil Evangelism & Discipleship" to
pastors, leaders, and servants in Argentina.
currently only at 77% in our required support level.
2. We are seeking to translate and produce Roots of Faith into Spanish and Portuguese. It is a type of Bible
survey course we teach to equip nationals to see the Bibles narrative and the gospel as it is laid out throughout
the entire Bible. If youd like to give online to this need, you may go to: http://www.abwe.org/give/online and
type in #0740043.003 if you want to give to the translation project in Portuguese and #0740043.004 to give to the
translation project in Spanish. We need $38,600 for this project. This will allow us to produce enough translated
materials for 4000 students.
3.
$50,000 is desperately needed to help construct
a security masonry wall around the perimeter of our
camp property in Recife, Brazil. The wall is critically
needed to be a deterrent to robbers and criminals from
coming into the camp and protect those that come to
camp for a week of ministry. Robbers have entered
and stolen equipment and other items in the past. It is
needed for the growing population next door to the
camp to keep out those with bad intentions and
protect our campers.

With Pastor Jenuan & his wife in Fortaleza, Brazil.

Pastor Jenuan is also president of "Maranatha Multicultural
Ministries" (Brazilian missions agency with
33 missionaries in 12 countries.

MERRY CHRISTMAS! May the Christ of Christmas
meet the deepest needs of your heart and bring joy that
