: 60 minutes

8. Lesson Objectives

At the end of the lesson, the children would have:


i.

To learn the skill of printing, painting and drawing.

ii.

To learn the skill of mixing and matching variety of materials through


printing and painting experience.

iii.

Extend art experience from drawing to reproducing a printing.

9. Equipment / Materials : art blocks; pencils 2B; erasers; water colours; acrylic paints;
painting brushes; colour palette, hard boards, sponges, tooth brushes, comb
10. Procedures

1) Circle time ( 5 minutes)


a) Children are asked to seat in a semi-circle.
b) Recall previous lesson with children.
Key questions:

What is your feeling after you all went to Malacca?

What is the meaning of heritage?

Did you all know about the heritage of Malacca?

What are the historic buildings that can we find at the Malacca?

c) Introduce todays lesson to children.

2) Exploration on printing (20 minutes)


a) Project and introduce different type of printing to the children.
b) Show and describe the printing to the children.
c) Show one of the reproduction samples of the building that have found
at Malacca.
d) Encourage children to brainstorm on ways to use some materials onto
their building by using technique of printing.
Key questions:

What type of materials that can I use on printing? (Lead the


children to suggest on the materials that can use in the printing.)

Did the sponge can use on it?

3) Reproducing the printing(30 minutes)


a) Emphasize the reproduction of building on printing.
b) Lead children to draw out building of Malacca based on their
creativity.
c) Tell rules and regulations of exploration.

Share the materials to the others.

Take turn to use the materials.

d) Each child is given a piece of drawing paper for the reproduction.


e) Lead the children to print their artwork by using different type of
materials.

f) Lead the children to use the water colours and acrylic paint to mix
print on their artwork to complete them.
4) Round up ( minutes)
a) Encourage children to share their artwork to peers.
Key question:
i.

How do you feel when you reproducing this artwork?

ii.

What are the materials that you have used? Why? (Lead
children to share on reasons and the effects of the printing
materials and painting tools being used.)

b) Ask children to frame their artwork with their name and the title.
c) Tidy up the mess.

At the end of the lesson, children would be able to:

To learn the skill of printing, painting and drawing.

To learn the skill of mixing and matching variety of materials through

printing and painting experience.
