GRADUATION EXPENSES
CAP/ GOWN/ TASSEL

You MUST have a cap/gown to participate in graduation!


Cap/ gown options:
1. Purchase a new cap/ gown/ tassel - $30
2. Borrow a cap/gown from a former Blair graduate (on your own)
3. 2015 tassel and cap - $10
(Tassels are not included in option 2; you must purchase one.)

SENIOR FEES TO INCLUDE BUS


TRANSPORTATION/PROGRAMS/FLOWERS

All students are required to ride the bus from MBHS to Constitution Hall. $20
The last day to pay for graduation expenses is December 12, 2014.

The After Prom is FREE to all Seniors & Juniors. Only Guests of Seniors &
Juniors who attended Prom may go to After-Prom. ALL students attending
After-Prom must have a photo ID for admittance.

SENIOR EXAM SCHEDULE

A class is not complete until a final exam is taken. Seniors are expected to
attend all classes through their final exams.

*Order forms may be found in the main office, Rm. 232, and online.

All senior obligations must be paid by 12:00 noon on Thursday, May 28, 2015
to receive your cap/gown.
*Additional cords and tassels will be handed out with caps and gowns.

COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS

MCPS students must complete a minimum of 75 service-learning hours for


graduation. Those students who earn 260 hours or more will receive a
Certificate of Meritorious Service and a purple tassel to wear at graduation.
The last day to turn in SSL hours is on May 1, 2015.
In order to receive the certificate of meritorious service and a purple
tassel students must turn in documentation by Thursday, April 2, 2015

TICKETS AND SERVICES

*Each student will receive four (4) guest tickets (graduates do not need a
ticket), which will be given out to seniors/parents when they pick up their
cap/gown. Additional graduation tickets are not available.
*If a guest of a graduate is in need of sign language services, please contact
Ms. Fus by February 13th in the main office.

Complete and submit your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal


Student Financial Aid) on line as soon as possible after Jan 1. DO
NOT SUBMIT BEFORE JAN 1. Keep a copy of the form for your
files.

GRADUATION DAY INFORMATION

The ceremony begins at 10:00 AM and the procession will begin at 9:45 AM.
Graduates must be at Blair High School by 6:45 AM to ride the bus to DAR. All
parents, family members, and friends must be seated before 9:45 AM.
FLOWERS, NOISE MAKERS OR BALLOONS are not allowed in DAR
Constitution Hall. Doors will be closed at 9:45 AM for the procession and
reopened after the National Anthem.
Males should wear a white-collared shirt with tie; long black or navy blue dress
pants; black dress shoes with dark socks. Males should not wear a suit jacket
because it will be too hot under the gown.
Females should wear light colored dresses or dress pants and top, and dress
shoes they can walk comfortably in across the stage (no flip flops or heels more
than three inches).
