INSTALLATION GUIDE OF MICROSOFT DEVELOPER STUDIO:

STEP 1: insert a CD containing this software to a computer. Go to My Computer and double click on
the CD Drive.

STEP 2: Then Microsoft Fortran Power station CD-ROM will open. Click on Install Fortran Power
Station

Step 3: Microsoft Fortran Power Station Set-up will open. Click on continue

STEP 4: In the Name and Organization Information, write your name and organisation in the
appropriate box given and click OK

STEP 5: In the space provided for CD Key, insert your key and click OK

STEP 6: Give your Product ID and click OK

STEP 7: click on Custom/Complete

STEP 8: In Microsoft Fortran Power Station - Custom/Complete click on Continue

STEP 9: In Microsoft Fortran Power Station- Choose Program, select Fortran Power Station 4.0
in the drop down list and click Continue

STEP 10: Then set-up will be processing automatically. Dont do anything before completion the setup (100%)

STEP 11: in the Environment Variable Update, click Yes.

STEP 12: Then Microsoft Fortran Power Station Set up will complete successfully. Click OK

STEP 13: To open Microsoft Developed studio, go to start menu. Then Fortran Power Station
4.0 and then Microsoft Developer Studio.

STEP 14: Window will open

STEP 15: In the Tip of the Day, click close

STEP 16: The computer screen will look like figure below.

STEP 17: In Microsoft Developer Studio-[InfoViewer Topic], go to the mouse position shown in next
figure and click on it.

USER GUIDE OF MICROSOFT DEVELOPER STUDIO:

STEP 1: Select the shortcut-icon of Microsoft Developer Studio

STEP 2: Then a blank page will shown-up.

STEP 3: Go to the File option in main tool bar. Select the New option (or, File

STEP 4: Select Text File and click OK

STEP 5: Go to the File option in main tool bar. Select the Save As... option(or, File

Save As..)

STEP 6: Select the Driver from the drop-down list as shown as d. Write the name of main program
as fortnew.for in File Name

STEP 7: Create a folder in any name say fortnew in D drive of the computer. After selecting D drive in
the drop down list, the box in the Directories automatically will show d:\ .Within d:\, there may be
lots of files and folders. Select fortnew folder, and click on it twice. Then click OK

Figure below shows the main program page named as fortnew.for which is ready for writing
program

In the figure shown below, a program is written. Then save it by pressing Ctrl+S button at a time.

STEP 8: Go to Build option in the main tool bar for compiling. Click Compile fortnew.for If there is
any error in the program, then this will show in the space in the bottom of the page. If there is no
error in the program, it will show 0 error(s), 0 warning(s).

STEP 9: Again go to Build option in the main tool bar. Click Build fortnew.exe

STEP 10: Again go to Build option in the main tool bar. Click Rebuild All

Input and output files can be created same as main program file as in mentioned STEP 6. Instead of
fortnew.for it will be fortnew.in and fortnew.out
