Worksheets for Mixed-Ability Classes

This support material is designed to be used by teachers with classes where there are
mixed-ability students, or where children from other educational systems or with special
needs are being integrated. These may be students who either for a period of time or
throughout the educational process need specific attention and help. The objective is to
give these students the support they need in order to incorporate them into the normal
rhythm of the classes.
The Mixed Abilities Booklets for Twister consist of two comprehensive photocopiable
resource books, one for each cycle. Each level has basic unit by unit worksheets
designed to help children get the extra practice they need. The worksheets can be used
either as an alternative to the optional student material, or as a supplement.
The booklet follows the same structure as the Student's book to guarantee maximum
flexibility and integration. Each unit of the booklet has three worksheets:
the first worksheet practices the vocabulary introduced in Lesson 1;
the second worksheet practises the vocabulary introduced in Lesson 3;
and the third combines both vocabulary sets introduced in the unit.
The instructions on the worksheets are designed so that each child can write the
translation into their own language on the line. At the end of each level there is also a
photocopiable bilingual dictionary, where children can translate the key words into their
own language for self study, without the risk of copying incorrectly.
