CRITICAL THINKING REFLECTION

Critical Thinking Reflection

Receiving a college degree will improve my career opportunities in numerous of
ways. With my college degree it will upsurge my earning potential because with my
degree I can have a better a job to make more money. My degree will make me more
competitive in my career field and it will open more doors for me. Receiving my college
degree will help me be suitable for higher paying job positions and promotions; most
likely I will be working in a field that I love providing me with job fulfillment. With my
degree I will be educated in my field and become an educated person allowing me to
beat the odds of statistics. In receiving my degree it will lead to greater job stability
because if the economy goes down again it is less likely I will be laid off. Overall,
receiving my college degree will improve my career opportunity financially and
educationally and I will benefit with a successful career, satisfaction and growth.
In addition, the process of critical thinking will relate to the process that I used to
find content in my answer because I gave it deep thought. I analyzed my advantages to
receiving my degree and how I will accomplish that goal. I weight out all my options to
get my degree and I sat and thought about all the benefits to receiving my degree and
came up with the solution to go to school and accomplish it. I can use the critical
thinking process in other areas in my life such as work for example deadlines to meet or
when working with my co-workers that I may not like, but realizing there is a task to
accomplish and learning how to put my bias or stereotypes behind me to get the job
done. The steps I can take to ensure that I continue to use critical thinking in the future

will practice the skills that I have gained daily and applying the critical thinking process
in every aspect of my life.
When writing my content for my answer above, I had to take my critical thinking
step by step in a rather slow manner to ensure I was going through the motions and
steps properly like I learned in this course. Learning to think objectively as the extent of
my thinking will be limited if I do not understand this basic concept and foundation for
critical thinking. Next I bared in mind that keeping an open mind is just as important. I
need to be able to accept new ideas and concepts to further my critical thinking skills.
Next, I have to be able to avoid jumping on the bandwagon of thinking and going along
with what everyone else thinks. Having the ability to think for myself is extremely
important. Lastly, having the ability to distinguish the difference between observation
and inference, and between established facts and opinions. These concepts allow for
me to become an incredible and high level critical thinker. I am excited to take all that I
have learned in this class and apply it to my future classes and professional life.
