Points to note when upgrading System version on Fax Board Z1/Z2-equipped model;
After upgrading to System v40.XX or later, check that the service modes are set as follows.
- Service mode > COPIER > VER > FAX: "-F+" is displayed.
- Service mode > FAX > SSSW18: bit2 is set to "1". (The setting to improve the line disconnection problem is
disabled ("Off").)
- Points to note when upgrading from System v32.XX to v40 or later on Fax Board Z1/Z2-equipped model
After setting the following service mode values manually, turn off and on the main power, or after setting the service
mode (FAX > CLEAR > FAX ALL CLEAR), turn off and on the main power.
* When you set "FAX ALL CLEAR", all fax settings in Service Mode/Additional Functions are set to initial values.

- When Fax Board Z1/Z2 (old fax modem) is equipped, "**On Board -F+" is displayed.

Limitation:
1. When upgrading from Ver13 or earlier, the following items are initialized. Therefore, write down the settings
before upgrade and enter these settings again after upgrade.
1) Copy Recall
2) Copy mode memory
3) Additional Settings > Copy Settings > Standard Scan Settings
4) Inbox print mode memory
5) Inbox scan mode memory
6) Additional Settings > Mail Box Settings > Standard Scan Settings
7) SEND Recall
8) Additional Settings > Communication Settings > Favorite Buttons
9) Proof print settings in the Inbox setting return to default (OFF).
As for 8), you can prevent from initializing by exporting data before upgrade and importing after upgrade.
2. Default of reservation copy after restoring from Sleep mode is "reservation copy is accepted, but it takes 30 or
more seconds until copy starts". By setting the following Service mode, you can change this setting to "reservation
copy is not accepted until printer is ready (for 30 seconds)."
COPIER > OPTION>BODY > DWT-SYNC
0: It takes for 30 seconds if reservation copy is not set. If reservation copy is set, it takes for 90 seconds at the
maximum. (Default)
1: Reservation copy is not accepted until printer is ready (for 30 seconds). However, in case of the setting which
reservation copy is not accepted until printer is ready (for 30 seconds), there is a timing which copy can be accepted
for approx. 1/100 second (Start button turns to green for a moment), and if you make a copy with this timing, it takes
for 30 or more seconds until copy starts.
3. At 2-sided print setting for a 2-sided document, "Feeder Scan Type" button is displayed on the UI and "2-Sided
Double Pass" button can be selected. However, by setting the following Service mode, you can set not to display this
button.

4. Operations with the following paper sizes and types are guaranteed.
- Points to Note When Upgrading of System Item Initialized
The system is upgraded by overwriting. All settings (for user mode, service mode) will remain intact, and no item
will be initialized.
In case of the device which Boot Ver3.30 or before is installed, upgrade Boot first. (When "All File" is used,
upgrading Boot is executed first.)
The version of the Service Support Tool used for the upgrading is v3.21 or later.(The newest version: v3.33)
You cannot register System with the old version.
5. The manufacturer of flash ROM is changed because Spanshion-made flash ROM is discontinued.
-For the machines in which the above-mentioned version of software was installed at the time of factory shipment,
a guarantee of operation only with versions later than this version is offered in the future.
Therefore, do not install an old version of software in such machines.
- The software has compatibility with the Spanshion-made Flash ROM.
Note on overwriting MEAPCont:
MEAPCont contains SDLogin.jar, SSOLogin.jar.
When MEAPCont is downloaded from SST, these uninstalled applications may be reinstalled. Uninstallation of the
applications should be performed if necessary.
