Headmasters Newsletter 22
5th December 2014
Our soccer players journeyed last Friday to the Crystal Palace National
Sports Centre, for the ISA regional 5-a-side football championships.
Our squad was formed from: Will Ansell (capt), Jeevan Bains, Roan
Chima, Ian Dermit, Pavn Hayer, Pavan Judge, Ben Maynard and David
Obi. They played both in the main dome and outside on astroturf. I
cant really spin the
report any other way than by saying that the team did not win any of
our matches. However, it was a productive and worthwhile experience to come up against good players from schools all over the South
East.

Talking of the run-up to Christmas, this is just to remind you all

as well, that the Christmas Club operates over the first two
days of the holidays, Thursday 18th and Friday 19th December.
It is full of activities and fun.
Today was pyjama day, the idea created by our School Council,
to whom many thanks and congratulations. This is a fundraiser for new scooters for the play area. The day proved most
entertaining, and some impressive onesies all around, including
some staff!

Our team played with commitment and gained much Im sounding

slightly like Roy Hodgson after Brazil! Seriously though, ours is a young
side, including Year 4s Ben Maynard, and with hard work and the
encouragement I know they get from Mrs Rogers and from us all, they
should achieve much in the future. It was a very good event, and
thank you to all the organisers, drivers and helpers.

Traditionally all families attend the Christingle service, and we

look forward to welcoming you on Monday evening.
Looking Ahead
The Year 5 and 6 visit to Kent Life on Wednesday was the chance to
explore like in the Victorian era. Thus it was that many of the children
swapped their uniform for clothes of that time long flowing dresses,
striped suits and cloth caps. I was rather hoping to see Mr Gordon or
Mr Paul donning large mutton chop whiskers, but was sadly disappointed. Notwithstanding some rather bleak December temperatures,
this was a really enjoyable day, which captured imaginations and gave
many insights into Victorian Christmases.
