PROJECT TITLE:
Problem Statement:In the existing system, most of the records are maintained on paper. It becomes very
inconvenient to modify the data. In manual system the book management system is quite time
consuming and tedious. In the existing system, there is a chance of anomalies, there is a
possibility that the same data in different registers may have different values which means the
entries of the same data do not match. They cant perform calculations on calculator or
manually so they need system. Online ordering was also their problem.
Introduction:The purpose of this system is to provide the ease to our customer and to help the operator in
effective record keeping and to support more efficient storing operations.
We always strive to offer the latest titles to our customers, Which could help them, keep pace
with the latest books. All of the books sold on our website, are kept in stock at our warehouse to
make sure the timely delivery to our customers.
Objectives:Before developing software we keep following things in mind that we can develop powerful
and quality software:
1. The system will be user friendly and completely menu driven so that the users shall have
no problem in using all options.
2. The system will be efficient and fast in response.
3. Handling of cash is now an ease for both operator and Honor.
4. Expense record e.g Bills, Employee Salary, Book Purchase, Rents etc
5. Employee record i-e Name, Academic Background etc
6. Automatic calculation of sales per day/week/monthly.
7. Stay updated with the Newsletter (E-mail)
This system will generate automatic emails to the customer and also send SMS on their
networks.
8. Availability of desired books, Customer will come tells the name or Author of the Book
Operator will check in system whether book is available in racks or not. Its a time
saving process.
9. If customers buy a book via Online we will also suggest those related interesting books.
10. Social Networks links, Facebook, Twitter
11. Online Reservations/Ordering via visa card and cash on delivery.
12. Provide information regarding Profit.
13. This system will be multiuser. (Admin/Sub-Admin/Employee/Customer)
14. User based system and have centralized database for all branches.
15. This system will generate reports comparatively for all branches.
16. In this system, simply enter daily purchase expense and recipient transaction and have
instant view to all reports like transaction by customers, income, and profit reports.
17. Managing and categorizing of books.
18. Maintaining regular customers records. i-e how many customers come their name and

Motivation:Our motivation is that we want to learn more about management system and PHP
because it is the most in demand. Now days as everyone wants to save time, interested to do
work instantly. Also to provide an easy environment to the shop-owner and operator.
Assumption:
requirement may change with the passage of time(keep in touch with the client and get
his feedback regarding system)
2. We may not be able to maintain and sustain the right people in the right place in the project
(work should be divided on the bases of skills).
