Section 1

Essay: Do we ourselves cause change in our lives by making certain decisions, or are we acted upon by
events that happen around us?
Our fate is not decided by destiny, at least not in the view of modern society. Our fate is decided by
what choices we make in our life, followed by coincidence and luck. This holds true even when trying to
foresee the future by noting what path people make for themselves. Since fate is changed through an
individuals decisions, shouldnt the change in their life also be governed by which choice they pick?
Personally speaking, I havent had much of a chance to prove that certain choices make certain changes,
seeing as though I cant relive my past and make different decisions, not unlike the way of a save file.
Although this stops me from providing testimony to the fact that people cause change by making
decisions, I am sure I can extrapolate what would happen if I made a different choice.
School life can be a very important discriminant when trying to figure out what could happen in the
future. A person with no work ethic in his years of schooling would almost definitely wind up on a
different path than a person with a correct study timetable and ethic through to university. You dont
need to be able to traverse through time to know that the one who objectively should have been able to
do better was the one who took the initiative to do better in their studies, tried their hardest to do well
and most important of all, took the choice to work to a better future. The student changed their life by
making the decision.
When dealing with choices that come up in life, picking one or the other will definitely change your life.
We change our life by making that choice.
