AIMS OF THE LESSON:
assimilate new grammatical rules
help students improve their grammar using different types of exercises
improve pupils pronunciation and their ability of speaking in English freely
OBJECTIVES:
A. Cognitive objectives:

to check and improve vocabulary;


to encourage students to talk freely;
to help students talk about abilities;
to give students more practice on pronunciation, vocabulary and the structures previously taught.
B. Affective objectives:

making students confident in their ability to use the language;


creating interest in the topic of the lesson;
creating a relaxed atmosphere, proper for studying;
foster learner independence and cooperative learning;
stimulating students imagination and creativity;
having fun.

Teacher greets the pupils and asks them how they


are feeling. She checks absents and whether they
had homework or not.

The teacher plays the tape for the lesson

The teacher asks the pupils to read from the books
several lines about ability. In these sentences they
will find sentences containing can/cant. The
teacher will give them the correct pronunciation
and translation for this form. T shows them a
video about modal CAN.
