Case Study: MCA Indoor Cricket Academy (Stadium)


Project background:
Mumbai Cricket Associations state-of-the-art indoor cricket
academy facility is equipped with seven pitches, bowling
machines, gymnasium and other facilities needed for a
cricketer to enhance his skill.
This world class indoor cricket stadium has seven retractable
nets equipped with video cameras at both the bowlers and
batsmen end to conduct minute study of their flaws. The
academy also boasts of temperature and humidity controlled
environment under simulated climatic conditions, prevalent
among the major cricket playing countries.
The wide ranging world class facilities at the indoor stadium
extend from the viewing gallery for coaches, a dedicated
gymnasium and changing rooms for players, fully equipped
medicine, physical and endurance training facilities, flood-lit
night training facilities, other facilities ranging from
physiotherapy dietary consultancy services, yoga and
mediation centres all aimed at raising world class cricketers.
The famous cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar is known to practice
at this stadium.
The roof of the stadium is of metal and needed to be insulated
for the spectator comfort.

Installation Description:

Placing the Tyvek Subtex insulation over the purlins


and fixing the Manglore tile profiled metal sheets over
the insulation to the purlins by Self Drilling Self
Tapping screws. The overlap joints of the insulation are
stapled and sealed.

chosen:

Light weight and easy to install

The substrate and the blanket of DuPont Tyvek


Subtex are inert materials in case of contact with
water.

The contact of the product with the skin does not


represent any risk in normal condition of use.

The substrate i.e. Tyvek, allows water vapor to pass


through for drying of insulation in case of water
infiltration or interstitial condensation.

Has low thermal conductivity.

The substrate i.e. Tyvek has high tear strength, it does


not tear easily during installation as the case may be in
Aluminum foil substrate.
