Science Department Chair/Curriculum Leader


Jackson Heights Middle School
Seminole County Public Schools
Manage and organize department resources, materials, and curriculum. Lead the
Science team by teaching them new and/or innovative instructional strategies,
providing support as necessary and helping them meet their classroom needs.
Model best teaching practices and professionalism. Teach professional
development classes to the faculty relating to technology integration in the
classroom. Organize school events, such as Science Fair and field trips. Oversee
clubs and organizations on campus.

Currently teaching eighth grade Gifted Physical Science and two multi-grade
electives. The self-designed electives include TV News and Video Production.
In previous school years, taught United States History, World Geography and
Earth Space Science. Coordinate with parents, students, colleagues,
administrators and county personnel to improve student achievement. Plan
lessons, units and special classroom projects adhering to state and national
curriculum and Gifted standards. Integrate technology to enhance student
achievement and engagement. Mentor at risk students and enrich learning for all
students.

Instructional Technology Extended Contract Employee and Intern


Seminole County Public Schools
Developed online Blackboard courses for students. Taught and facilitated
blended technology professional development courses for teachers. Created the
SCPS Robotics Curriculum for middle school integration. Integrated technology
in SCPS Minecraft, Robotics and Video Game Design summer camps at the
elementary and middle school levels. Developed leadership skills by
coordinating with school-based administrators and county leaders. Presented at
the 2014 Seminole State Educators Conference.
