Problem Statement
Consider fluid flowing through a circular pipe of constant radius. The pipe diameter D = 0.2 m and
length L = 8 m. Consider the inlet velocity to be constant over the crosssection and equal to 1 m/s.
The pressure at the pipe outlet is 1 atm. Take density = 1 kg/ m3 and coefficient of viscosity = 2
103 kg/(ms). These parameters have been chosen to get a desired Reynolds number of 100 and don't
correspond to any real fluid.

Open the Workbench from starting menu.

Double click on Fluid Flow (FLUENT).

Right click on the Geometry and go to Properties.

In Analysis types choose 3D

Double click on the Geometry and choose the unit for drawing.

Select XY plane and sketch in XY plane.

Draw a circle in Sketching with proper dimension.

Click on Extrude

Provide extrude data.

Click on Generate, save the Project and close the design modeller.

Now double click on Mesh.

Click on Geometry and go to Surface Body and change the Material as fluid.

Mesh Insert Method. (Select geometry and click on Apply)

In Method select Tetrahedrons as mesh type

Select Geometry Apply.

Click Mesh in project Sizing from Details of Mesh. (give sizing data)

Now click on Generate Mesh

Select Face

Select the face, right click on it and click on Create Named Section.

After giving name to all faces Export the mesh file.

Select Fluent Input file from drop down box and save the mesh file with a proper name.

Open the fluent start menu with 3D option.

File Read Mesh

In General menu turn on Gravity and provide its value.
