Appendix E: Three Views of all Alexander Aircraft Models

In the seven years of its existence, the Alexander Air

craft Company produced five distinctive designs: the
Eaglerock biplane (bqth in its Long-wing and Center
section versions); the Sedan/Transport; the Bullet; the
"Trainer" Primary Glider and the Flyabout. Only fragmen
tary manufacturing drawings exist for these Alexander air
craft. The following nine pages of three-views were drawn
by Walt Maston, using the best available surviving data.
Their accuracy varies from the exact (direct measurements
of a surviving "Trainer") to the "best guess" (the
reconstruction of the Sedan/Transport from two known
dimensions and four photographs). The originals of the
drawings were prepared In 1/2/1 = 1 foot scale and they
have been photographically reduced to fit this book's page
size. The drawings appear in chronological sequence.
Incomplete records indicate the Alexanders built ap
proximately 454 "cabane-type" biplanes and 441 "Center
section" Eaglerocks for a total of 895. There was a single
"Transport" and 11 Bullets constructed (although 14

Bullet serial numbers were assigned). The "Trainer" was

built in approximately 350 examples, a number that may
err on the high side. If Aircraft Mechanics-built Flyabouts
are considered, there were 19 of the ContinentallSzekely
powered monoplanes that may be documented. These
production numbers rely on FAA records maintained in
Oklahoma City and may be revised by on-going research
by the author and others. At this writing, the total produc
tion of all Alexander designs is 1276 airframes. This
number is believed to include all Alexander aircraft ex
ported to foreign countries as well as those operated in the
United States.
Readers are encouraged to provide documentation on
any or all Alexander aircraft to the author through the
publisher. Such data will be recorded and maintained on
file with the view of upgrading information contained in
this book and helping individuals and organizations con
templating the restoration or replication of Alexander air
craft.
