A new style of bullying

Nowadays, in technology era, there are many kinds of digitals technology. One kind
of digital technology is social media. Social Media is a facility for social society via online in
internet. In social media, users communicating, interacting, and sharing to other users.
Because of social media, people dont have to face-to-face to make a communication. So,
people could receive many information around the world fast.
There are many kind of social media, they are Facebook, Twitter, Path, Google Plus,
Instagram, etc. Mostly, the users of social media are teenagers. Teenagers use the Social
Media as media for communication, find new friends, or just for share a not important
information to other friends. But now, teenagers often abusing the social media for
cyberbullying. They often use it for bullying other teenagers. But, what is cyberbullying
exactly? Cyberbullying is when a child, preteen or teen is tormented, threatened, harassed,
humiliate, embarrassed, or otherwise targeted by another child or teen using the internet,
digitals technology or mobile phone. So, cyberbullying happen in the internet, mostly via
social media.
The social media users who mostly teenagers, caused mostly cyberbullying cases
occur in teenagers world. They do it because many reasons. Like to find a popularity,
hurting others makes them feel powerful, they have less sociality successful in the real world,
and they are motivated by revenged. Many bullies bully others because they ever got a
bullying. So, they make a revenge by bully others via Social Media. Teenager who is still in
developmental age, try to find their identity and they also find a popularity between their
friends. So, sometime they try to find a popularity by bullying others.
The impacts of the cyberbullying more dangerously because online communicating
run 24-hours. So, the cyberbullying could happen almost every day. Because of that, the
victims of the cyberbullying fall on psychologies pressure, like stress, afraid until nightmares.
But, the very danger impact is suicide. In other country, like USA, Australia, and United
Kingdom, cyberbullying become a serious problem. Because the cyberbullying cases in their
country is in very serious condition. The victims of cyberbullying in their country run into
danger psychology pressure. That condition make the victims think to kill their self. There are
many teenagers suicide cases happen because of cyberbullying. Therefore, the cyberbullying
has a fatal impact for the victims.

In Indonesia, especially in Yogyakarta, cyberbullying is like iceberg phenomenon.

There are many cyberbullying case. However, the victims unwilling to report the incident to
the police. said Imam Zamroni as researcher from Islam Research Center of Islam Indonesia
University (UII).
Victims of cyberbullying in Yogyakarta more befall on female student. Unfortunately,
they unwilling to report their parents or counseling teacher. Up till now, cyberbullying cases
that reported to the police just when the physical violence fall on the social media users. The
police could do nothing if the victims dont report it to the police.
There are many method to prevent the cyberbullying. First, tell the children about
digital ethics, especially about the ethics of using social media. Second, the parents must
know what their children are doing in internet. Parents must control what is the website that
their children open. Third, the parents have to encourage their children to tell if they is being
cyberbullied. Last, never belief all that happen or tell in social media. Because we know that
social media is not real.
Cyberbullying is hot social issue in teenagers nowadays. Without we realize, we may
become cyberbullying victims instead the bullies. Therefore, we have to know what the
cyberbullying is. So, we can prohibit the cyberbullying.
