LO1. Obtain and convey workplace information.


ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
Specific and relevant information is accessed from appropriate sources.
Effective questioning , active listening and speaking skills are used to gather and convey
information.
Appropriate medium is used to transfer information and ideas.
Appropriate non- verbal communication is used.
Appropriate lines of communication with supervisors and colleagues are identified and
followed.
Defined workplace procedures for the location and storage of information are used.
Personal interaction is carried out clearly and concisely.
CONTENTS
Accessing of specific and relevant information from appropriate sources.
Usage of effective questioning, active listening and speaking skills to gather and convey
information.
Usage of appropriate medium to transfer information and ideas.
Usage of appropriate non- verbal communication.
Identification and application of appropriate lines of communication with supervisors and
colleagues.
Usage of defined workplace procedures for the location and storage of information.
Carrying out of personal interaction clearly and concisely.

Well ventilated and well lighted classroom, conducive to learning equipped with LCD
projector, projection screen, and whiteboard;

METHODOLOGIES
The module will be delivered through:
interactive discussions;
demonstration in the classroom utilizing visual aids and other teaching materials to gain
the required attitude and knowledge; and
practical application to acquire the required skills and competencies.
Take home reading assignments may also be given from time to time.
ASSESSMENT METHOD
Assessment of learning outcomes includes written and oral scrutiny of the strength of
trainees understanding and knowledge of the fundamentals and applications of this
module.
Written quizzes and examination must be administered to check if the required learning
outcomes are achieved.
Assessment requires evidence that the candidate:
o Prepared written communication following standard format of the organization
o Accessed information using communication equipment
o Made use of relevant terms as an aid to transfer information effectively
o Conveyed information effectively adopting the formal or informal communication
Recitation is encouraged through a scheme of problem and solution presentation of
students.
Exercises must be given in order to simulate the activities, thus, ensuring the trainees
attainment of the required knowledge, skills, attitude and competency. The instructor
must provide the exercises.
Direct Observation
Reports/documents (printed and/or softcopy) must be submitted as required by the trainor.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
Team meetings are attended on time.
Own opinions are clearly expressed and those of others are listened to without
interruption.
Meeting inputs are consistent with the meeting purpose and established protocols.
Workplace interactions are conducted in a courteous manner.
Questions about simple routine workplace procedures and maters concerning working
conditions of employment are asked and responded to.
Meetings outcomes are interpreted and implemented.
