GAME SCHEDULE
Games will be played at Blackburn Park with a 10 game schedule.
General Information: This league is intended to be a recreational baseball league.
It is BPRDs intention to limit the roster of each team to 12 players, depending on
total registration numbers, with a max of 6 teams per age group. BPRD reserves the
right to move a player(s) to a different team should the overall needs of the program
require it. There will be a post-season tournament following the regular season. All
activities conclude before Memorial Day.

hunt. Light breakfast will be served at 9:00, and the egg hunt will begin at 10:00. We will have eggs

Parade will begin at noon, going from Lynwood United Church of God in Christ to Lynwood
Community Center. The event is open to all ages and will include a cookout, band, and fun games
and activities for the whole family.
VOLUNTEERS
The City of Brookhaven welcomes all citizens to complete service projects or gain volunteer hours within our
facilities. Many different types of volunteer opportunities can be accommodated including Boy Scout projects,
corporate community service, etc. For more information on how to volunteer within our parks, please contact the
Parks & Recreation Department.
Cardio Jam - STAT Wellnesss take on Zumba. Burn calories while dancing the night away! Easy to follow
choreography allows you to have fun and get your heart rate up! Tuesdays, 7:30pm-8:30pm, Briarwood Community
Center.
HIIT Off Your Weekend - Kick off your weekend by revving up your metabolism. HIIT represents High Intensity
Interval Training. This 45 minute class will spike your heart rate and challenge your muscles. Its time to sweat!

BRING on the HEAT - High Energy Athletic Training. This class is full of circuits, cardio, strength, and plyometrics.
This is a challenging total body workout that will improve your overall fitness. Plenty of modifications for all fitness
levels. Anything goesits time to bring the HEAT! Tue/Thur, 6:15-7:15pm, Lynwood Community Center.
Triple C - Core, Cardio, and Circuit. This class challenges your core while improving your cardiorespiratory fitness.
Intervals of cardio, strength, and core makes this class a one stop shop. Plenty of modifications, making Triple C a
perfect class for all fitness levels. Mon/Wed, 8:30-9:30am, Briarwood Community Center.
TNT - Tone N Tighten. This low impact, resistant band class will tone and tighten your entire body. Time to get lean
by improving muscle strength! Fridays, 8:30-9:30am, Briarwood Community Center.
Fit in 50 - This low-impact, 50 minute power class uses a variety of equipment including gliders, resistance bands,
bender balls, and your own body weight to challenge every muscle group. Each week is different and unique. Come
get Fit in 50! Plenty of modifications for all fitness levels.

FITNESS CLASSSES
Tabata Boot Camp - 8 week group training program based on High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) using 20
seconds of intense exercise followed by 10 seconds of rest. Program is combined with a 24/7 virtual online
component. Participants will get a virtual 6 minute workout daily. Groups can track their results, monitor their
success, and receive support from their trainer! Tue/Thur, 6:15am-7:00am, April 7-May 28 at Lynwood Community
Center. $180, ages 18+.
Cardio Combat - 6 week class mixes high intensity calisthenics and striking intervals with some resistance. Get a
dynamic, form shaping workout and learn to execute martial arts and boxing techniques. Students need to bring a
pair of protective bag gloves, a mat (if you dont want contact with the ground), and wear close toed shoes. Tue/
Thur, 8:00am-9:00am. Jan 13 - Feb 19 at Brookhaven Park. $100, ages 15+.
Brookhaven Fitness Boot Camp - Love Brookhaven Parks? Well, so do we! Brookhaven Boot Camps is taking
basic training outside in Briarwood Park and making fitness affordable, effective, and FUN with innovative,
convenient, and fun ways to get in shape and see real results. Our fitness boot camps are committed to building
community awareness about physical wellness resulting in each individuals sound body. So get up and keep on
moving with Brookhaven Boot Camps! All fitness levels are welcome and no boot camper gets left behind. Tue/Thr,
6:00-7:00am or 8:00-9:00am. Sessions offered March 3-31, April 2-30, and May 5-June 4 at Briarwood Community
Center. $90, ages 18+.
KIDS Fit - Youth class filled with relay races, games, balance, and stretching. Allows children to burn off some
energy while incorporating fun, fitness, and laughter. Saturdays, 9:30-11:30am. March 7-April 25 at Lynwood
Community Center. $20 per Saturday, ages 5-13.
NIA (Neuromuscular Integrative Action). Step into your own joyful journey and positively shape the way you feel,
look, think, and live. NIA draws from the dance arts, martial arts, healing arts, and yoga. Everybody at every level
of fitness can adapt NIA to meet their needs and explore and enhance their own potential. Dance, move, laugh, and
shake it! Put pleasure into your workout! Thursdays, 11:30am-12:30pm. Starts Jan 8-May 28. Classes will be held at
Briarwood Community Center. $40 per 4 weeks or $15 drop-in. Ages 18+.

How Much Do I Need? - Learn specific recommendations for your individual needs as well as guidelines for
healthy eating, serving sizes of foods and various food groups. Jan 21/Feb 25.
Nutrition for Weight Management - Maintaining a constant body weight is orchestrated by a complex system.
Come discuss components of body weight and regulation, weight management throughout life and common
problems encountered in weight management. Jan 28/March 4.
Food Labels - Topics include learning how to read and decipher the food label, laws and regulations around the
Food and Drug Administration labeling guidelines, and quick meal planning tips for eating out. Feb 4/March 11.
HEALTH CLASSES
Training for a 5K - Maximize your race and exercise performance by attending this class where we will discuss
energy production for exercise, fuels for contracting muscles, nutrition requirements (including fluid, glucose and
sodium) and ergogenic aids. Sample training program also provided. Wednesday, March 25. 7:00-8:00pm at
Lynwood Community Center. $15.
Diabetes Self-Management - 25.8 million children and adults in the U.S. have diabetes. 79 million people
have pre-diabetes. Come learn how to better care for this manageable disease by learning the pathophysiology
of it, blood glucose monitoring, medications, food care, and meal planning to keep blood sugars in good control.
Wednesday, April 1. 7:00pm-8:00pm at Lynwood Community Center. $15.
Nutrition Guidelines for Heart Healthy Eating - Cardiovascular disease is known as the silent killer. In this
class, you will learn nutrition guidelines for cardiovascular disease - both prevention and treatment. Types of dietary
fats and recommendations for cholesterol, sodium and fiber intake. Therapeutic lifestyle change management will
also be included. Wednesday, April 15. 7:00pm-8:00pm at Lynwood Community Center. $15.
Nutrition Therapy for Food Allergies and Intolerances - With more and more people being diagnosed with
food allergies and intolerances, this class will focus on the immunologic basis of food allergies, risk factors for
developing them, and the difference between food allergies and intolerances. We will also discuss the top food
allergens including gluten, dairy, nuts and seafood. Wednesday, April 29. 7:00pm-8:00pm at Lynwood Community
Center. $15.

Ageless Grace

all shapes, sizes, and fitness levels. Ageless Grace can be done by

ART CLASSES
Art Stars - Draw and paint like one of the greats! Use your shoe, family, or room for inspiration. Wide range of art
materials used. Let the fun begin! Thursdays, 4:30-6:00pm. Feb 19-March 19 at Lynwood Community Center. $70,

Exploration Drawing for Teens - Tons of techniques to make drawing people, animals, and landscapes easier
and rewarding. Learn to see how an artist sees. Learn ways to approach perspective and make your work more 3D.
Supplies not included, bring for first class: drawing pad, ebony pencil, pink Pearl eraser. Other materials provided for
class. Tuesdays, 6:00pm-8:00pm. Feb 17-March 17 at Lynwood Community Center. $60, ages 13-17.
Beginning Drawing for Adults - Receive a foundation of techniques that makes drawing easier and more
rewarding. Supplies not included, bring for first class: drawing pad, ebony pencil, pink Pearl eraser. Other materials
will be provided. Tuesdays, 2pm-4:30pm. Feb 17-March 17 at Lynwood Community Center. $60, ages 18+.
Inquisitive Painting for Adults - Techniques and shortcuts to make painting easier. Learn the basics, find your
niche and shine. Info on supports, brushes, and paints. Start with painting from photos then still lives. Material
provided on first day. Thursdays, 7:00pm-9:00pm. Feb 19-March 19 at Lynwood Community Center. $60, ages 18+.
Beginning and Intermediate Drawing for Adults - This 8 week class will explore basic drawing principles
and techniques including value, line, blind contour, gesture, composition, etc. working from still life and your own
photos. Beginning students looking to gain a solid foundation in drawing as well as students with some drawing
experience will benefit. A solid foundation in drawing will provide the basis for moving towards more advanced
drawing techniques, painting, and sculpture. Supplies not included, bring for first class: Eraser, drawing pad (11x14
or larger), and 4 pencils (2 soft, 2 hard [2H, 4H, 2B, 4HB]). Thursdays, 6:00pm-8:00pm. Jan 15-March 5 at Briarwood

DANCE CLASSES
Argentine Tango for Beginners

DETAILS:
During this progressive 6-week introduction to Argentine Tango, you will learn the fundamentals
needed in order to dance Tango in a social setting. This class will be a comprehensive look at the Tango basics such
as walking and turning, musicality, rhythm, and a bit of Argentine Tango history. We will finish out the six weeks
with a Tango social on the last night. Couples preferred but not necessary as partners rotate during the class. Wear
comfortable clothes and dress shoes- no sneakers or open back shoes please.
GYMNASTICS CLASSES
Parents & Tots Class - Parent assisted class for children that will be their first exposure to basic gymnastics skills.
Students will build confidence, coordination, and strength while at play doing gymnastics. Parents required to attend.
Ages 18 months - 3 years. Tuesday or Thursday, 10:00am-10:55am. Jan 6-March 26 at Lynwood Community Center.
Cost $120.
Pre-Gym I - Designed to teach kids basic gymnastic skills in a fun environment that includes playing games, fun
stretches, jumping on the trampoline and introduction to the Olympic gymnastics equipment including bars, beam,
floor, and vault. Tuesdays, offered 11:00am-11:55am and 1:00pm-1:55pm. Jan 6-March 24 at Lynwood Community
Center. Cost $120, ages 3-4.
Pre-Gym II - Designed to teach kids basic and intermediate gymnastic skills in a fun and safe environment.
Participants will gain more exposure to Olympic gymnastics equipment including bars, beam, tumbling, and vault.
Thursdays 11:00am-11:55am, or Tuesdays 2:00pm-2:55pm. Jan 6-March 26 at Lynwood Community Center. Cost $120,
ages 4-5.
Next Level Up - This class will combine different curriculum individually tailored to each childs skill level. For
beginners it will improve strength, flexibility, and coordination. At the intermediate level, students with previous
gymnastics experience will expand on the foundation they already have. For more advanced students, new skills
introduced will include back walkovers, round-offs, and pull overs with the bar. This class explores traditional Olympic
gymnastics events including bars, beam, vault, and floor. Every student will work at their own skill level until they
are ready to move to the next level up! Tuesdays 3:00pm-3:55pm. Jan 6-March 24 at Lynwood Community Center.
Cost $120, ages 5-8.
