There are many holidays celebrated throughout the world. Christmas is one of those holidays. Christmas in
my favorite holiday. I like Christmas because of the presents, the food, and the family being together.
Paragraph Two

I get presents on Christmas day. Aunt Betty sent me the usual underwear that was too large. Momma gave
me a new one hundred dollar bill. But my grandmother stole the show. She gave me a brand new, bright red shiny
Porsche with a big white bow on top. I received some nice presents this Christmas.
Paragraph Three

On Christmas day I have a feast fit for a king. We have meats which include baked ham, smokes turkey, and
roast beef. For veggies we select from potatoes, peas, carrots, and dressing. Breads include biscuits, rolls, and corn
bread. The desert table has coconut cake, chocolate cake, caramel cake, pecan pie, and Aunt Bettys hot, deep-dish
apple pie a la mode. After lunch I have to take a nap during the football game.

A Thesis is a sentence that summarizes your point with specific details.

Santa Claus.--Good example because it has the specific details in the sentence.
Step 3: Write your three main points into sentences of their own with specific details for
each.
ex: I always look forward to opening presents to see what I get. When there is no
school, I sleep in every day. Santa usually has a spot at the mall where I can go and ask for
more presents.

Step 4: Write a conclusion and restate the thesis.
ex: Those are three reasons why Christmas is my favorite holiday.

Christmas is my favorite holiday. It is the time of year when we wait for Santa. Everywhere you
look, you see lots of decorations. For most of us, it is a time to share with family.
Christmas is the time of year to look for Santa. He is always easy to see in his red suit.
Sometimes you can see him traveling in his shiny sleigh. If youre really lucky, youll get to see
his reindeer
I love seeing all the decorations at Christmas. You can find pretty lights everywhere. Decorations
come in every color imaginable to brighten the holiday. Flashing lights and colors are found
indoors and outdoors during this season.
For me, the best part of all is time with my family. It is sort of a reunion, seeing people we dont
see all year. We always have a great dinner and everyone brings something. After we eat, we
spend the evening just catching up.
My favorite holiday will always be Christmas. I think it is the best holiday of all. I love all
the sights and sounds that go with it. I wish it could be Christmas all year.
