How about leaving the signatures in place? As long as there is no
ridiculous commentary and overt questioning of WUS policies, we
may be giving ourselves more trouble by removing them.
I say let them show their solidarity for Gabe. It's a nice gesture to
show that they appreciated him. Won't bring him back, but at least it
will let them feel like they are doing something for him.

I am against letting the signatures stand. They are welcome to
express their gratitude to Gabe, but not to advertise to have him
back.

make it appear that we're trying to eradicate any evidence that

Just to make it clear, Isthmus's signature remains unchanged, and
displays the VT icon.
Given the things moving on SCF for the past day, somehow I don't
think that the VT icon should be a bone of contention.

My suggestion is a two-day ban for everyone who put the removed
picture back in his signature, and removal of the sig only for
first-time offenders.

Hmmm, maybe a warning first that reversing a moderator decision
again will incur a two-day ban ... there is something to be said about
being able to see the wolves instead of knowing they are just out
there plotting schemes ...

I agree with this. It is my hope that we'll get through this without
issuing any bans, although that may be an unrealistic view. I'm just
concerned that we might create martyrs.

flavour

We could put a post in the SC&O forum, then delete the sigs, then take it from

Not "replaced" as they will make cosmetic changes and claim they
did not replace them ... perhaps advise them to have no signature at
all until further notice.
