Materials
Size 11 and size 13 Needles ( Circular for magic loop or double pointed as you prefer)
Cable Needle
Tapestry Needle
Lion Brand Yarn: Hometown U.S.A in San Diego Navy

Special Terms
Moss Stitch- Repeat two rows of k1, p1, and then switch to two rows of p1, k1. similar to seed stitch
(R1: k1,p1; R2: p1,k1) but it has a slightly chunkier texture.
c2b: slip the next 2 stitches onto a cable needle and hold to the back. Knit the next two stitches, then
pick up the stitches from the cable needle and knit them
c2f: slip the next 2 stitches onto a cable needle and hold to the front. Knit the next two stitches, then
pick up the stitches from the cable needle and knit them
p2tog: purl the next two stitches together to decrease by 1
k2tog: knit the next two stitches together to decrease by 1

Directions
Using long tail method with size 11 needles CO 60 and join in the round.
Cable section indicated with [ ], moss stitch with * *
R1-10: k2, p2 around
Switch to Size 13 needles

Cut yarn and thread through remaining stitches with a tapestry needle. Pull the stitches tight and tie off
the end to secure and close the hole.
Using the same yarn, wrap your palm (or whatever you use to make poms) 40-50 times based on how
thick you would like the pom pom. I wrapped 50 times as I have very small hands. Tie the middle
together with a piece of yarn about 6 inches long, cut the edges, then tie the pom to the top of the hat by
using the tapestry needle to bring both sides of the yarn to the inside of the hat (making sure to separate
the two strands by a couple stitches so the pom stays on securely) and double knotting neatly. Weave in
all ends and enjoy :)
