It was four years ago when I first dreamt to have a degree in veterinary medicine.

It was due to
the nature of my research that I was given the opportunity to work closely with my godmother, who is a
successful veterinarian. By working with her, I was able to discover my interest in animal-related
research, and seeing the success of my first research activity lead me to discover my skill in the field.
In the future, it is my goal to become a veterinarian specializing in animal nutrition. I want to be
able to develop food products with emphasis in increasing livestock production yields in farms here in
the Philippines. In order to do this, I aim to get a research related position in an animal nutrition
laboratory that belongs to a world class and reliable food corporation. Lastly, I want to help the
Philippines through improving our countrys agricultural economy through the food products that I will
develop in the near future.
In line with PILMICOs mission to drive our partners business dynamics to outstanding
results my above goals are directed to help farms improve their production yields and services. I
consider myself as a promising candidate for the PILMICO College Scholarship Program given my
research oriented background and high academic performance. My strong desire to learn and apply
what I have learned also contributes to my competence as a candidate in this program.
Receiving the PILMICO College Scholarship is a big help for me for a number of reasons. The first
and the major contribution of the scholarship will be financial assistance. I grew up without a father. I
only knew him by name and I was not able to have any form of communication or support from him. It
was my mother who has been supporting me as a single parent without a permanent job. My mother
also suffered breast cancer on the year 2011 which made it more difficult to support me financially.
Being a PILMICO Scholar will be a great help for me to be able to pursue my dreams and enter college. It
will also lift the burden on my mother to support my studies.
Receiving the scholarship will also allow me to focus on my studies being confident that my
needs will be met through the program. It will also become a driving force for me to become excellent in
my studies and make effort to learn as I can and bring back to the community whatever privileges I will
be receiving if I will be received as a scholar.
I am really grateful that I have this chance to be considered for your scholarship program. I am
always thankful to God for the concern and support of organizations that makes it possible for less
privileged students to still reach their dreams and be successful despite their societal status. I thank you
