This may be accomplished
by mechanical
treatment
or by
pickling. Unless otherwise spccitied, anodizing, bichromate
treatment
or pickling,

dried prior to
impregrmtion.
(Sodium silicate is a water
solution and should be applied hot and curer]

prior to impregnation.

thoroughly cleaned and dried by heating in
