A school magazine is a periodical. School publishes it.

The students maintain it with the help of their

The school magazine is different from other magazines. Its circulation is limited to students only. It
is now written for the public. Hence it has nothing for the interest of the general public. It generally

The school magazine has many advantages. First it teaches students how to write. Boys are fond of
reading by nature. Hence they avoid writing work. To contribute articles to the magazine they have

They take part in games to see their names in the school magazine. Each school magazine has
statements about the progress of the students. It tells about the prizes, the medals they win. So those
who are eager to see their names in the magazine, must work hard at their books. They must do their
best on the playground.
Thirdly, the school magazine brings the students in close touch with one another. The writers read
other books to increase their knowledge. Again they learn to think for themselves. Their thinking
increases their reasoning power. A regular contribution to the magazine improves their art of
writing. It gives them to command on the language.
Fourthly, the students lean the value of co-operation for the success of the magazine. A good spirit of
competition comes among the boys. The essay written by teachers, have many practical suggestions
for the students. The boys learn the art of writing from the writings of their worthy teachers.

The school magazine is the concern of students. They conduct it with the help of teachers. Its Chief
Editor is the Principal. A committee composed of both teachers and boys is framed. In some cases

Environmental pollution is the biggest menace to the human race on this planet today. It means
adding impurity to environment. The environment consists of earth, water, air, plants and animals.
If we pollute them, then the existence of man and nature will be hampered.
It is true that trees are being cut down rapidly. Our earth is becoming warmer. If pollution continues,
the day is not far when our earth will be a boiling pan and become a desert. Or it will be covered with
sea water causing destruction of mankind.
Pure air is always needed for inhaling. If we take pure air, our health improves. On the other hand
impure air causes diseases and impairs our health and causes our death. Smoke pollutes the air. It is
the root of air pollution. The smoke which is discharged from industries, automobiles and kitchens is
the mixture of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, methane etc. These are all poisonous gases. These
cause lung-cancer, tuberculosis etc. which take a heavy toll of life. The glaring incident is the Bhopal
gas leak in December 1984. Thousands of the residents of Bhopal died due to lungs problem which
was caused by methylamine gas from the Union Carbide Plant.
The garbage emitting foul smell, the decaying plants and animals also cause air pollution. Hence the
doctors advise the patients having lungs trouble to settle in some rural places because the air of
villages is pure and free from population.
Then comes sound pollution. The harsh sounds of buses, its, mopeds etc. affect our power of hearing
and causes fart trouble. It has been reported that there are two villages named Biraspalli and
Devadas Palli near Dum Dum airport m Calcutta where a large number of people have lost their
power of hearing. This is because of the frequent sounds of planes coming in and going out of Dum
Dum Airport. The evils of sound pollution can be imagined from this example.
The water of rivers and seas is being constantly polluted all over the world by various dangerous
chemical and biological wastes. Mills and factories discharge very harmful waste waters into many
rivers and sea. The water of the Ganges flowing by the side of both Varanashi and Calcutta is
extremely polluted and contains all sorts of dangerous bacteria. It is really very strange and
laughable that large number of the Indians regard this water as holy. They even drink this water for
salvation. There is no doubt that the fish that grow in such waters are poisonous too.
Reckless application of chemical fertilizers, insecticides and pesticides pollutes the soil. Vegetables
and fruits are quite injurious today, because they contain the poison of insecticides and pesticides.
If the air we breathe, the water we drink and the soil which produces our crops, vegetables and fruits,
all become more and more impure, then our chances of good health and longevity will be very less
and less. Environment pollution is a serious menace to our existence. Realising the danger, we must
plant trees in large number to absorb impure air. Impure water from industries can be sent back for
purification and then it can be used for irrigation purpose. Our government is well aware of the fact
and is taking steps to save environment from pollution. We have also I minister to look after the
environment.

Pollution of Environment or environmental pollution means making the environment foul.

Our environment means the surrounding of our house where we live, the surrounding of our village
where we live or the surrounding of our town or city where we live.
It our surrounding gets polluted we suffer from many kinds of disease and sickness. If our
surrounding gets highly polluted, our life gets endangered.
Causes of the environmental pollution:
Smoke rises from the fuel that we burn in our kitchens and workshops. This smoke gives rise to
carbon dioxide that pollutes our environment. The smoke that rises from the motor-trucks, motorcars and motor-cycles, give rise to carbon dioxide that pollutes the environment of our village, town
and cities. The harmful gas that rises from our heaps of filth from the latrine and urinals and from
the uncleaned drains, pollute our environment. The smoke that people make while they smoke cigars
and cigarettes or biree and ganja, pollutes our environment. The smoke that rises from the hotels
and restaurants in towns an cities, pollute the environment. The smoke that rises from the mills and
factories of the industrial estates pollutes the environment. The gas that rises from the deposits of
filthy waste of the mills and factories, pollute the environment. In such very many ways our
environment is getting polluted.
How to eradicate the environmental pollution:
Existence of our life depends mostly and mainly on oxygen. Oxygen in the atmosphere saves our life.
This oxygen is exhaled by trees. Trees consume the carbon dioxide which is fatal to our existence.
Trees make the oxygen and spreads it in the air for us. As such, we should have enough number of
trees in our environment to eradicate our environmental pollution.
Long time back, there were numerous trees in our environment, and small woods and forests
surrounded each of our villages. At that time, there were extensive forests and jungles in our country.
But the most foolish of the people, for their selfish ends, thinned away our groves, woods forests and
jungles by indiscriminately cutting away the trees from them.
So we shall have to plant a large number of trees to save our environment from the fatal pollution.
We should not pass stool and urine in the open. We should make scientific latrines and urinals for
us. Drains and deposits of filth should not be allowed to leave gas and for this we should apply the
necessary scientific method. We should pay careful attention so that our environment keeps neat and
clean. Above all, we shall put stress on the a forestation of our environment.
Conclusion:
The students too, have a lot of duties for eradicating the environmental pollution. They can plant
trees near their houses and in their education institutions. They can enlighten the people nearby
about the danger of the environmental pollution and can encourage them to do the needful in this
respect.

Imagine if people didn't study English. How would people be speaking and learning today? In order to
sound educated and literate people need to thoroughly study English. It is also heavily needed in the
business world as well as your own private world. English also teaches you to communicate and process
things more accurately. If we didn't have a set English language communicating would be extremely
difficult.

In conclusion there are many reasons as to why studying English is important. One is being
that you sound more educated and literate, two is to communicate properly with others, and
three because it is important for career advancement and respect in the business world.
Learning English never ends, there is the English dictionary that has so many words in it
that most people have never even utilized or heard. Learning to properly use one new word
each week is a great way to continually learn to utilize the English language.

All airline pilots and air traffic controllers have to speak English. They have to learn
a precise and specific vocabulary. If pilots and controllers would speak different
languages, international air travel would be very dangerous, if not impossible.
In many countries, the citizens have different tribal languages. Even though English
is not a native language, the governments select Engilsh as an adopted national

English was a relatively unimportant language (or, more precisely, a set of dialects) around 450 AD,

countries, and these companies generally employ graduates whose English is fluent and orderly. For
example, the student who is graduated from a university which takes English as a major language will
find a better or high-quality job than other students who dont know English adequately. In other
words, the student who knows English is able to be more efficient in his job because he can use the
information from foreign sources and web sites. He can prepare his assigments and tasks with the help
of these information. Therefore, undoubtedly, his managers would like his effort or prepared projects.
In addition, many high-quality jobs are related with international communication and world-wide data
sharing. University graduates who are in a international company and business are needed to
communicate with foreign workers. For instance, if their managers want them to share the companys
data, they are expected to know English. Moreover, they will even have to go business trip for their
company. Absolutely, all of these depend on speaking English;as a result, new graduates have to know
English in order to get a high-quality job, and the others, who dont know English, may have lack of
communication and be paid less money.
The second and the most important reason, for English to be the medium of instruction in the Turkish
higher education system is that it enables students to communicate with the international world. In
these days, in my opinion, the most important thing for both university students and graduates is to
follow the development in tecnology. For this reason, they have to learn common language. Certainly,
they should not lose their interest on communicating with the world. However, some of the university
students cant obtain English education in their university. Unfortunately, these people may lose their
communication with worldwide subjects and topics. In short, they will not communicate foreign
people. To prevent these people from lacking of speaking English, universities administration will
provide English education to them. In addition, university students can use some specific hardware and
software of computers with their English to communicate others. For example, the Internet, which, in

my opinion, is the largest source in the world, based on English knowledge and information. Also, most
of the softwares such as Windows, Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer are firstly written in
English, and these programs are the basic vital things for communication over computer. That is to say,
even in a little resarch about something, they need these programs and the Internet to find necessary
sources and information.
The last reason for favouring English as the medium of instruction of Turkish universities is that it
faclitates accessing information. All of the students have to do some projects or homeworks which are
related with their field during the university education. In these projects or homeworks, they have to
find some information which is connected with their subject. They find sources from English web sites
and books, but they have to replace these data to their projects. During these process, if they know
English, they will not come across with any difficulty, but if they dont know, even they may not use
these data. As a result, the student who knows English will be more successful at his/her project. For
this reason, to obstruct possible inequity between students, management of universities should accept
English as a second language in order to provide accessing information to the students. In short,
university students need to know English to access information.
All in all, the education in universities should be done with English for three reasons. First, students
who know English are able to find their favourite job related with their field. Second, they can
communicate with others internationally. Third, as a major language in universities, English makes
accessing information easy for students. In my opinion, internationally, people need one common
language. For many years, English has been the common wold-wide language, and it will be in the
future. For this reason, if you want to follow trends, new gadgets and technology, modernization of the
developing world, you have to know English whatever age you are in.
