WIRELINE OPERATIONS

HEIDRUN

Operations in BIT

Rev. 00 - Print date 20.06.09

Introduction
For a long period, StatoilHydro has worked in order to prevent dropped
objects on our installations, and much work has been done to contribute to
our philosophy:
Our goal is zero harm. All accidents can be prevented.
The workplace changes all the time for the personnel working with Well
Intervention. The personnel must also be involved in several management
systems on the different installations. Personnel on these installations must
work together with the personnel working with Well Intervention. This requires
co-ordination and a mutual understanding of what is important to have in
mind under this type of operations.
If the planned activities are carried out at a high quality, we believe that we will
achieve a good HSE level at the execution of the operations. This will prevent
incidents, which in turn will contribute to high effectiveness in our operations.
This handbook is meant to be a tool to ensure a correct performance of the
operations, in addition to help you check equipment which we have put extra
focus on. In this manner, you can help us contribute to a safe operation.
A hand book such as this can be an effective tool to identify and catch up
conditions which routine work can overlook. However, this hand book is only
a supplementary tool. Primary controls including pre-job meetings, safe job
analysis, procedures, direct supervision, training and competence shall be
rigorously applied during the operation.
We believe this hand book can contribute to be a barrier, so that you can,
after having taken part in the operations, return back home again in the same
condition as before you started the operation. We also want proposals on
improvements, in order to revise the book.
Best regards

General safety precautions:

Fundamental safety requirements for lifting operations
- The load and any load carrier shall be properly secured and prepared
before the lifting operation starts.
- Relevant areas shall be barriered off before the lifting operation commences.
- In case of significant movement on the installation, loads shall be secured
against unintentional displacement or overturning.
- Loads shall not be lifted over personell and personnel shall not walk under
suspended loads.
- All personnel who are involved in the lifting operation shall ensure that they
have an unrestricted escape route during the whole operation.
- If the assumptions which the planning and risk assessments where based
upon changes, stop the operation and consider a new plan.
The lifting operation shall cease immediately if safety is jeopardized.

WL operation in BIT
All equipment is installed in and directly under BIT.
This operation was performed in November 2008.
Remember!
Wireline operations at Heidrun vary a great deal from time to time. Weather
conditions, logistics, equipment issues and simultaneous operations will have an
impact on the way equipment is rigged up. The rig up shown in these manuals
where the best alternative at the time they were performed, and will not always
be the best solution.
Electronic update
Personnel using these manuals are requested to assist in the improvement
and further development of the document. If you have suggestions for new
checkpoints, pictures or text, please register these in the electronic update file
