MUNICIPAL RESOLUTION NO. 05-2014

REQUESTING THE OFFICE OF THE DENR REGION V AND THE DENR COMMUNITY BASED
IN GUINOBATAN TO ALLOCATE CONFISCATED LUMBERS AND FIRE WOODS FOR THE
NEEDS OF DAY CARE CENTERS FOR THE 44 BARANGAYS TO BE USED AS DESKS AND
FIRE WOODS FOR THE FEEDING PROGRAM OF DAY CARE CENTER PUPILS. (A Joint
Project of DENR and the Local Government of Guinobatan)

WHEREAS,

it is the mandate of every local government to provide for the basic needs of
students/pupils within their respective jurisdiction, most especially those merely at
the outset of their years in school. To this end, this local government intends to
implement a Feeding Program in the Day Care Centers of its 44 barangays;

WHEREAS,

for the effective and efficient implementation of and to afford the student/pupilrecipients a more convenient and comfortable site for said feeding program, the
provision of a considerable number of desks and sufficient supply of fire woods are
but necessary and essential;

WHEREAS,

this august body is aware and was previously informed of the fact of existence of a
number of lumbers and fire woods in the Department of Environment and Natural
Resources (DENR) confiscated in violation of illegal logging laws. In this wise, this
august body hopes to be granted/allocated a significant number of lumbers and
fire woods from such pack and put the same in good use for the benefit of our
constituency;

WHEREFORE, in view of the foregoing premises, be it now:

RESOLVED,

as it is hereby resolved by the Sangguniang Bayan of Guinobatan, Albay in

session assembled, to Request as it hereby Requests the Office of the DENR
Region V and the DENR Community based in Guinobatan, to Allocate Confiscated
Lumbers and Fire Woods for the Needs of Day Care Centers for the 44 Barangays
to be used as Desks and Fire Woods for the Feeding Program of Day Care Center
Pupils.

RESOLVED FURTHER, that both the labour and other essential materials in building the desks
above-mentioned shall be shouldered by the Local Government of Guinobatan,
chargeable against appropriate funds allocated for the purpose.
RESOLVED FURTHERMORE, that a copy of this resolution be furnished the Offices of the DENR
Region V through its Regional Executive Director, Hon. Gilbert C. Gonzales and
the DENR Community based in Guinobatan through Hon. Santiago T. Olfindo, and
such other concerned offices or agencies, for their information and appropriate
action.
APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY, on motion of Honorable Councilor Robert M. Baaga and duly
seconded by the members present this 21 st day of January, 2014 during their 1 st
Special Session.
